I want to reapply the thermal compound on most of my rigs because the factory stuff was either applied incorrectly, dried out, or is very bad cheap stuff.

Obviously we can't all use Arctic Silver 5 from those tiny 4g bottles.

Was wondering if anyone had any luck with some affordable larger spread compounds on eBay?

There are a few there which are 100g about 4W/mh thermal conductivity for around $15 or so.

Unacceptable

I've been using Ceramique for over 10 years on my CPU's & GPU's & small miner heatsinks.Works VERY well, but for the amount you need on most current miners, alot more than a tiny CPU needs,it may be costly.

I bought 65 grams of Arctic MX-2 a few years ago since I got sick of buying little tubes of stuff. It is not quite as good as Arctic Silver 5, but it is still very very good and is non-conductive, non-capacitive.

It is available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-MX-2-Thermal-Compound-Non-Electricity/dp/B004YITI5M

When you are putting the paste on the Antminers, does it need to be non-conductive AND non-capacitive?

The CoolerMaster paste doesn't say so. Only the MX-4 but those are like $10 for 4 g

That's my question too, but for the money seems like you could cake on a whole farm with it.  I'm awaiting purchase for this answer.
It says it is for cpu and heatsinks but if it is at all conductive may damage being on the board.  I don't know for sure.  Someone chime in.

I am pretty sure the cheap crap that Bitmain put on the stock heatsinks isn't any expensive quality product like MX-4.
