Would it be something like May 1? No work that day?

I liked the Jan 3rd suggestion so far.  The reason behind it seemed like the strongest I've heard so far.

What would happen if everyone in the world used Bitcoin for one day?

Please check out the site and let me know what you think.

http://IntBtcDay.com
Seems like a positive idea, but how is everyone in the world supossed to use Bitcoin when most people in the world don't have access to proper internet.
This won't happen. Internet won't be available for everyone soon anyway. I just want to know why we would like to have bitcoin day when we don't even have something like Dollar day or Euro day anyway?

Because we're trying to raise awareness of Bitcoin, not of Euro or Dollar, which everyone already know.

An economy based on endless growth is unsustainable.

And Bitcoin is a global currency that (more or less easily) anyone can use anywhere around the world.

Sounds a great idea. Everyone can certainly play their part to make a difference and who knows it might just help with a little bit of push. I agree a lot of people still are not aware of bitcoin existence, also there might be people who know about it but are not interested to check it out.

Ha ha that is true. This could really take off with the likes of Ver backing it!

Oops I bumped one of the famous bitcoiners off the Thunderous Supporters list. Was not my intention.

Write bitcoin logo with "Bitcoin > Cash" on each dollar and let it fly into circulation

I think it's nice that there's hype. An international Bitcoin day makes this seem cheesy however (IMO, I respect those that disagree). We're going for household name here, not niche holiday.

I agree in a way Bitcoin should be used any day of the year ... I like the idea more as a celebration of the genesis block.

Its a great initiative, and i hope it will rise awareness about bitcoin, and all of its advantages, but sadly, where i live there are zero places that accept
bitcoins, but i do have a bitcoin debit card on the way, so i guess that should count also Smiley

cheers
