Changes to the Consumer Protection Act and laws governing gambling so that Internet service providers must block access to online gambling websites on a list of “illegal sites” created by Loto-Québec

If this idea spreads to other jurisdictions, we would need a TOR-like bouncing of the client-server communication so that blocking of the domain would not be effective.  Would need to keep latency to a minimum.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

When it comes to bitcoin TOR is the best option to play on the sites, the only problem this would be in is for the Fiat based gambling sites.

Do these bans actually apply to bitcoin sites ? Its hard to manually enter all the sites on the block list as there are more than enough to count . I think only some of the major bitcoin gambling sites would be effected by it. And Tor is always an option as well.

It's only Quebec.

I feel this is a good idea however.  You get rid of all the scam sites that don't follow the rules and regulations.

It's easy enough to make money on a gambling site even if you are following the rules.

It's a bad precedent IMO and will lead to other things being blocked. They'll keep adding new things to it to block and it'll eventually end up just like similar censorship systems in Iran, China, and recently the UK.
