Bitcoin meetups and conferences are springing up all over the globe, just last week – ZebPay hosted the largest bitcoin conference in India. On the 20th of March, Ghana was also host to COINFEST. CoinFest 2015 was hosted in Kumasi, a city located in the Ashanti region of Ghana, which is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. The event was organized by the Dream Bitcoin Foundation, a Ghanaian organization dedicated to spreading awareness about digital currencies and their benefits.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It's so exciting reading reports of places like Africa and India becoming more knowledgeable and interested in learning about bitcoin. These are two major areas that could benefit the most from expanding this market.

This statement is not entirely true ..... " Another event in Botswana, will unveil the second BTM(Bitcoin ATM) on African soil. "

There are several ATM's already installed in South Africa. {JHB & Cape town} and there was a ATM installed in Ghana. {Well actually ...a ATM with only 50% functionality}

You should think, people would invest a lot more into Africa with it's huge remittance market potential.  Sad Sad Sad

I hope to see these conferences turn into development in the future
The applications of mobile banking and cheap efficient transfer could do wonders for their economy
Just the benefits alone from not needing to waste time walking to a bank to get cash if they live far out of town that can then be placed into working productively is worth the test.
