Fiat currencies have been fueling exponentially more (and worse) crimes since fiat was invented.
Remember that Bitcoin is still beta software. Don't put all of your money into BTC!

I wouldn't be surprised if the US starts funding terrorists via Bitcoin and then blaming Bitcoin. We've had this. The government is stupid. They can't control Bitcoin, they can't take it down. That's their problem. This is something completely new that they have no power on.

I don't think the government will go to such extremes just with the objective of discrediting Bitcoin.
Even if they do fund terrorists, the Bitcoin believers will just shrug it off and life will go on.

Not if they fund terrorists, they do fund the terrorists. They give them weapons for free and help train them. Like they helped Bin Ladin before.

The US gov spends $billions on psy-op campaigns so I don't think it would be too hard of them to discourage mainstream use of btc by planting a few 'terrorism' stories. Let's hope it doesn't get to that stage, don't think any of us want to be put on a terrorism watchlist.

What do u think, is this all just another scare story, or are they planing on making a move in the future ?
I think property is theft and the first crime in any case is the violation of the non-aggression principle, wherever it occurs.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

well this was inevitable, wasn't it?

The bitcoin comes with the whole package. The advantage of anonymity and the disadvantages of anonymity. It has use for everyone. People used to transfer money around the globe, off-shore account, via shell crp. to fund the cybercrime. And now they are simply using bitcoin. Tongue Roll Eyes Huh Shocked Cheesy Wink Smiley

All the blame goes to the Internet!

Yeah. Like the fiat money is not being used for criminal purposes  Roll Eyes Cash is even harder to controll than cryptos, and bitcoin especially as it is not 100% anonymous. Authorities just dont like internet and related themes, as a "techy-sketchy things for kids trying to cheat us".

That's why they are trying to get rid of physical cash too...

Slowly the powers at be are turning the world into a giant police state.  Angry
