Looking for a new, profitable proof of (something other than work) to play with

So, I'm looking to get in on a new coin with a different idealogy from proof of work. Do you have any thoughts on a profitable proof of stake like paycoin, or something else that doesn't require expensive hardware but is actually profitable? Thanks!
