Holy Shit. That's crazy

My negative trust rating is reflective of a personal vendetta by someone on default trust.

Not terribly surprising. The prosecution of these agents is somewhat surprising. Ross should get a new trial on all of the charges. I am no conspiracy theorist, but you do have to wonder how much of the black mail attempts in these situations is perpetrated by rogue feds or other law enforcement.

Corrupt cops should go to jail, they should pay back all the BTC they stole from Ross + his customers, and Ross should be set free immediately.

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Of course i could be wrong but this sounds very much like one of the guys who pretended to do the murder for hire for Ross does it not? I mean the agent / apparent hells angel dude Ross was speaking to threw mail. I really think it was and how funny this is the feeling i got while reading the chat logs between them both. He will still get sentenced for the silkroad but this might be his get out of jail for the murder for hire. We'll have to wait and see i guess.

Holy Shit. That's crazy
What is so surprising here? That the federal agents stole bitcoin? Police or law enforcement in general have a very long history of corruption and rogue agents being present. Crooked cops and FBI agents before have been stealing evidence, money, drugs, weapons - basically everything valuable since like forever, really. We just entered new era of bitcoin - it is just new kind of money, of course they will be stealing that too.

I have to agree with this they have been doing what stated above since it began which is kind of sad they are meant to protect and serve yet they kill and steal.

What this does show though is the strengths of Bitcoin doesn't it?

If that was cash those crooks would still be free to do what they do but because it is Bitcoin they was traced however much effort they put in to covering their tracks. 'armatures'  Grin Cheesy

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

It's just immature for the legal system to be discriminating against drug users/dealers/etc. by punishing them, but the whole attempted murder (or whatever they're charging him with) thing is another matter entirely and will now seem less legitimate.

it was expected, with that huge amount of money, many will fall in temptation, cops are not excluded

i'll not be surprise if other coins from the silk road would be declared missing in the future due to others greedy authority
