They just quoted me $370 for 40 units, plus shipping. I will see how much shipping is and see how much better I can do, but would need a lot more interest if this would be serious to go through. I would take around 6 of them so would need people to grab the rest of the 34 units.

Make sure to mention that they are not shipping to same place.  As shipping would very.

I think shipping would be hard to estimate if you ship 40 unit's to different places that are unknown.

The whole point of a group buy would be to do a drop ship in the US and distribute from here, otherwise they will still charge .5 btc shipping per. Shipping in the US will cost around $10 a unit.

Normally the point is price per unit to do a group buy.   If you choose to do a drop ship in my opinion you will have trouble with group buy, unless using a very very well known escrow who agrees to do all the shipping.

And 370 is actually a nicer quote then I thought you would get.   Compare it to 1.96 BTC.   Currently that beats it by quite a bit.

Looks like 430 WITH shipping to US is best price I can get out of them. Wanted to get it to under 400 to make it worth it, considering you can get a single S5 shipped for 390...

But you will need to mod the S5 heavily (and still I don't think you will get as quiet).  They are full metal cases aswell.  So add in factors such as this in price.

They are really two very different miners.   430 is pretty darn good considering you just asked them, and it's a rather small group buy at 40.  If you had the 80 they mention in stock, or even 100 interested it would effect price.  But unless you can reach those levels 430 is a deal as far as the Avalon 4.1's compared to past pricing.

Well I will probably start a group buy thread in the forms, and see how many interested people we have.

At matching prices the Avlaon4 is extremely well matched to the S5. Higher power consumption but higher overclock, more flexibility and auto voltage. And as nolist3d said, no need to mod it to keep it in the house.

Best of luck with the group buy.  I hope it works out.  They really are very very high quality miners.   And I cant say enough about their operating with very little sound.

Bump for the group buy going of these.  It sounds like a pretty good deal if they get to 40.  Cheapest I have seen at least on selling.

As always use escrow.

Avalon 4.1's have officially been sold out for a bit.  So this review is most likely for used gear at this point.  For what it's worth I still have 3 of these running great.

I have had a small amount of communication.  That and site makes it look like the next product from avalon will be a small usb based miner.  Most likely the "Avalon Mini".   In time we should see price.

Yeah the group buy never panned out before all new units were sold.  Love this miner. We may be waiting on a price for used units, but at the rate things have moved I wouldn't bank on seeing anything.

Looks like until Avalon brings out a next gen miner, we may get a few of these 4.1 minis. Just wish they would post a price already!!

Avalon 4.1 has now been removed from product page. - https://ehash.com/

Now they seem to have focused on Avalon Mini - https://ehash.com/product/avalon4-mini/

I think they are still working on it.  I'm guessing we wont see price till it's ready to ship/close to ready.  Will be interesting to see.

I'm not expecting any new 4.1's to show up, but I always could be wrong.

I have exchanged some  emails with them    about a review model of the new mini  and a group buy of it .

Review model = late July

group buy = Mid- August

But time will tell if they can meet the times above.  They did get me a model of the 4.1 for review very quickly. So I hope they can come through with the mini on time.
