go to your profile tab, click the left side that says forum profile info > then click on the avatar > go here

it should display all the pictures you can select from and then save it.

I thought Avatars were turned off?  That only people who did it a while back have them.

Did they turn them back on?

Its turned back on, if you check right now you can actually upload it.

Not sure when this was announced officially? but I guess the changes were today or early morning of today?

if you check on the very top to confirm, the forum news: News: If you are a full member or above, you can once again upload an avatar!

That is called 'avatar'. You get enable it from your profile settings.

But it only works for Full Members and above ranks. So you will need to wait a bit.

And now it's available, but only for full member...

Just wondering... What if a hacker wanted to upload a disguised file (file that has .jpg format but actually it has some codes in it) to bitcointalk...
I know... You need to be a full member to upload them... But what if he bought it?
Or earning activities and got full member rank?
I mean, will bitcointalk be down? I hope bitcointalk will never be down... Like forever

Have you read theymos' announcement thread? He stated that animated gifs cannot be uploaded; so, we can safely assume that after the previous hijacking no hidden code exploit can be forwarded by jpegs.

You will become a full member after 120 days which is like 4 months . however you can buy a full member account .
when you become a full member go to my profile > Forum Profile Information > Avatar . you will see only avatar button if you are a fm member . and can select a avatar of size of 120x80 pixels.
