I finally noticed that the valuations shown for GRouPcorp shares (sGRP) in my Digitalis Open Transactions server assets stats pages

http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html

have been out of whack all along, due to my getting interrupted before recording the fact that it still owns 978000 of its own shares.

The valuations so far had been based only on the relatively small amount of "miscellaneous assets" the Corp owns.

I have added the un-issued shares into its assets now, so from here on it should correctly reflect the value, assuming it does end up selling those shares for what the valuation routines calculate them to be worth (which seems at present to be just a little more than the one GRouPcoin per share they were initially offered at).

As plots like the one at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/plotsharesindvc.html show, GRouPcorp book-keeping had again been falling behind; the first sudden jump was basically the previous post, now there has been another sudden jump due to its books being updated to reflect the sale of its shares, manifesting the gains the things it obtained with the proceeds have made since the sale.

The next update of the plots should reflect new transactions that have been made since bringing the books up to date; specifically GRouPcorp has bought some sGFC (shares of GFC) in anticipation of gains General Financial Corp hopes to generate by building structured credit default swaps - while simultaneously "qualifying" debtors - using GRouPcorp's population rosters.

In essence GRouPcorp, being group-oriented, has access to a lot of people and hopes to profit by providing some of those people access to credit through GFC and categorising the credit risks those people represent. Groups stand to benefit not only by obtaining a source of credit for their members but also by providing their members an opportunity to progress step by step through level after level of credit so that hopefully at least some of their members who might not otherwise be able to qualify could end up achieving "qualified investor" status.

GRouPcorp's lobbying group has managed to wrangle enough influence to have just now caused General Holding Corp to issue an interesting announcement...

EDIT: Note that this news might well make a significant impact on the values listed at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/ingroupcoins.html Wink

EDIT2: Yes, it made an impact alright! Check the values again now... quite an impressive rally for GRouPcoin!

GRouPcorp has been introduced to the (New) Horizon HNZ) network as asset ID 10245382461165869807.

DeVCorp should follow soon.

I had forgotten that part!

Lately I have been thinking again about linking GRouPcoin to things relating to groups, simply because it has always seemed nice, and fitting, to me that things that might seem by their name to be related to some "theme" indicated by their name be somehow caused to actually at least to some tiny extent live up to such an expectation.

We saw many years ago now of course that that is not always achievable, when I tried to bundle Traffic Exchanges (TEs) into "themes" based on their names, like my "Teach the World to Fish" hub that bundled all the fish, shark, fishing etc name exchanges together, or my "Space Cadet Academy" hub that bundled all the space and sci-fi type name exchanges and so on.

The problem there was not only that most of them evidently had never had any intent of focusing on topics one might think of based on their name; other than a few of the big ones that tried to support a whole bunch of topic based categories they were really all just about "make money from home" and similar "opportunities", advertisers targeting advertisers with offers to advertise and tools for advertising along with make money schemes to integrate into your recruitment of advertisers some profit-centres to make your advertising self-funding.

I am following the above links now to remind myself what actually happened, because currently as I write typically Civilisations tend to pay their hosting fees either with their own currency if they have one or with one they have been accumulating (whether they have one of their own or not) such as GMC scrip earned by operating Intergalactic Mining Corps.
