Hi everyone,

I thought I would list some of my SHA-256 Mining Hardware that I own, even if they are ancient and from eras ago....

Block Erupter (333Mhs)
2x Bitmain Antminer U1 (1.6Ghs each)

They are pretty much only used for Fun, Testing & Launches.

I really should invest in some new hardware.

Anything other than usb miners consume too much electricity for you to profit now.  But your hashes will also grow 10 fold.

So what would be the point, if I can just do spoondlies cloudmining partnership w. genesis mining.

I rather risk buying bitcoin or going with them, and since they allow me to pay it on a credit card I`m assured of 1 year protection based on fraudulent stuff I can do a possible charge back and open a case.

Get the "new r-box" from rockminer.

Mine has been hasing with no issues for months.. The U3 seems like a good idea alas is sounds like it zombies a lot :S.

I have S3's and a r-box both are awesome.  The R-box is cheap and only uses 100w which is nice.

lol it is only 100 ghash, Get the S3 over that since you can buy them cheap and used, they do decent undervolted.

If you are only mining for giggles the difference between 100watts and 400 is massive.

Although yes it's only $150 for an S3 which is pretty aweosme.

Me too!  Loved the light show.  No major heat or noise just not enough bang for the buck.

r-box consume 50 watt only at 35 giga/hash, yeah it consumes a low amount, but so its hashrate, pretty useless

good only for experimenting, if you never mined anything

The new R-box is 110 Ghash at 110-120 watts.

Priced very well.  I didn't even need a powersupply as my computer powersupply is solid so I juse used a spare PCI-E plug and run it from my comp powersupply using my comp as the controller.

.25 BTC for the miner plus shipping is a solid deal.  I am tempted to get another one for fun.

You mean invest in OLD hardware.........new hardware will not ROI for at least 1 year, unless BTC price goes up  Roll Eyes

long post/ rant..you don't like it ....put me on /ignore...(a fine thing to toggle on here imho)

well thru dumb luck i was able to get a 2nd titan 300mh 1st batch all the cubes work full out at 325 setting on adv page
hits like 375mh when in orig 4 cube mode..for $567 usd (no dead dies) or 2.3 btc at the time (march 1st)

the 2nd unit will ROI with electricity at current prices in about the middle of the 4th month...maybe ROI in 4.5 months..even at above price

and I got this unit from a whale/had a traveling job (not like you can leave these fire hazards alone)...I think? he had shut it off for a month while he traveled) for 567 usd
march 1st ..and 269 of that was shipping from Australia and the shipping was INCLUDED  in the 567 price ..2.3 BTC at the time.  With what he mined up to that point. I assume
he just wanted to get the original coin back he spent on it (neppie conversion to titan) back in Nov 2013 when btc was 1100 usd a coin..and get the titan eyesore out the door
...whatever I grab'd it...hey he offered...

now I am a hated man on here due to the above stroke of luck on a futile search for another such stupendously lucky purchase (ain't gonna happen)

but truth be told for the risk of getting the miner...a 4.5 month turn around...2nd batch titans coming out (god knows how many) that was probably an
ok price ..until you look at the insane prices on ebay

my point is even at the above price it is 4 to 4.5 months to ROI at current prices (on paper I'm holding LTC for now) march 1st i saw a slight risk

so these prices for used equipment of any kind and Titans in particular on Ebay ...from my above scenario are INSANE..beyond insane in fact.....just buy coin.

If you must buy 'used equipment'
my advice is find someone overseas with 31c kwh elec....gone a lot .....it is hot as hell summer...eventually ..hot climate and high priced elec places in the world
will dump their equipment first imho.....but it is all  a matter of chance to trip over something that works now used ROI wise..and usually you have to know the
person at least somewhat from skype/TS or something...(he got 1/2 before and other 1/2 when it arrived) hard to line all them ducks up for this to work

and remember before you HATE ME too much...I have an orig $10,131.80 w/ship Titan 300mh (2 dead dies 1 each 2 cubes KNC refuses to RMA because unit got over 300mh ..barely..)
with my biz and equip deductions (hey these last 3 years ...incl end of this year sucked....but  it looks in
the bag that I will get the full 25% off equip via the biz)...so now I"m 7.6k in the hole.....on this dubious purchase

so with that I HOPE to mine out of it ...before they all turn to doorstops..my goal is ONLY to lose (with the 2nd titan chiming in the kitty etc) 25% including electricity on my original no roi no refund Titan

yep would be happy with at 25% loss on the orig Titan at this point...and damn lucky to be only that much in the hole when the Titans are shut off someday

lame goal...but hey ..if I manage to get that out of this dubious orig Titan purchase I will take it....

but it comes down imho any deal that works and ROI's less then 1/2 a year is dumb luck ...especially with the fact you could dump any crap old asic on ebay and
get imho 4x what it is worth at worse...and also he offered to sell this too me (a couple cubes to start) at 1/2 the price I paid...i doubled the price for the works
so ..hell maybe it was charity...myself again..I think he holds coin and just wanted the original BTC at 1100 bucks a coin back ...it was worth back from this fiasco

but as to this thread..most of anything you get used will either be by 'luck' like me...or just for 'fun' or I suppose the 3rd choice is you are soooo rich you
can pay big bucks on ebay for your 'toy miner' at ebay prices..

yeah I'm still scratching my head on this as well thou when I look at what people are STILL paying 5 weeks later for equipment on ebay

Don't bother with the new r-box. I have two (was only running one for about 5 weeks), one crapped out with in 2 months. Windows insists I'm trying to connect a USB 2.0 device to a USB 3.0 port even though it's plugged into a USB 2.0 port. I've had this with other USB miners too. I've moved them to other computers and everything, no difference... they're basically bricked. My other one is running fine (for now). I've only had this one going for about 3 weeks.

I need to play with it.  I got a Avalon Nano it's pretty impressive a small chip doing 3.6 GHz.  To think this is over 10 of the original 333 MHz block erupters is impressive.  That was a entire Anker hub worth long ago.

It is just a fun item to mine with.  USB sticks really don't make much sense from ROI at this point.  But great way for new people to learn a little about mining with a stick miner.

The current bitcoin prices fell and the cost of electricity more expensive, is still profitable?
not more bitcoin miners the less its results?

it was not profitable even before, and even if you take in cosideration free power it's still not profitable, but if your miner reached roi than it's another story

i must have missed it, thank you for pointing me this, it seems also more efficient, 33% better than the old one
