I for one am sick and tired of hearing "Pirate this" and "Pirate that." It is quite annoying to think that the machinations of one pimply faced geek can garner so much attention from adults. The man (?) has almost become a legend, with every market price swing attributed to his masterful manipulations.

I think it's time we dealt with the PIRATE:

How does opening a new thread about him help Roll Eyes.

After he pays up or disappears next week the gossip will dry up on its own.

If only that were true. I'd bet a whole Bitcoin that even after "pirate" winds down and we stop hearing from him, that every time the market moves any significant amount we will get a wave of speculation that he is behind it.

It's difficult to imagine the price going up so high, so fast, without someone pulling the trigger.  How do we know Pirate wasn't responsible for the surge upwards, trying to sucker people in to buying at the top and then dumping?

Hopefully this is just a correction.

With a market capitalisation so small it's easier for any well connected vocal and/or wealth person(s) to manipulate the market.

There's this thing called "the Bitcoinica effect" which means that threads about a service multiply if it shuts down.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Yeah.   I spend a lot of time hating this place.  I'm not sure why I bother Smiley
