HOW IT WORKS:FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS

1)Buyer & Seller agree to terms.
Either the Buyer or Seller begins a transaction
After talking to escrow, all parties agree to the terms of the transaction

2) Buyer pays Escrow
The Buyer submits a payment by approved payment method
Escrow verifies the payment
The Seller is notified that funds have been secured

3)Seller ships merchandise to Buyer
Upon payment verification,the Seller is authorized to send the merchandise and submit tracking information
Escrow verifies that the Buyer receives the merchandise

4)Buyer accepts merchandise
The Buyer has a set number of days to inspect the merchandise and the option to accept or reject it

I suggest to use different addresses for escrowing so that you will know if the buyer/seller is the sender. Or you can use an address but don't use the address which you receive tip to.

You can escrow physical goods if the person who have is from China. You will have to take some potential risks. In most cases, physical goods are escrowed if it is used as collateral for loans. For sales, escrowing Bitcoin/Altcoin is sufficient.

What about bitcointalk accounts though? I don't think IP address alone is enough to get an account back and you need to prove a signed message from an address associated with the account. I guess there's plenty of people who escrow bitcointalk accounts already, though. Good luck with your escrow.
