n00b question on bitcoin extraction

Hi!

I have looked at a number of ways to try and 'extract' bitcoins from the online world into the physical world (as a kind of tangible savings account to keep some bitcoins secure from theft and computer crashing etc). However, all these ways seem very complex to me.

Is there some easy to use software out there that can be used to do this?

If not, please could someone run me through how to get what i'm after, as i'm really confused with this.

I just have usb sticks (truecrypt) and a DVD-RAM backup (in the event of an electromagnetic field or solar burst frying my sticks). I do have a paper copy in my safe, but its way outdated (like the OP said, a real hassle).

Although I looked into Pywallet and it still seems a bit complicated for me (maybe I'm just too simple to use this stuff!   )

Still, suppose I could just keep buying casascius's awesome physical coins if there is nothing else out there - suppose that is the same thing at the end of the day!

if you don't want to trust that your computer is secure then here's an even more secure approach:

Copy the HTML from BitAddress to a thumb drive.

Boot from a liveOS (e.g., boot to an Ubuntu distribution image)

Brian Krebs gives an example of doing this for online banking here:

Open the HTML from the thumb drive. 

Print.

However, I have just finished downloading the 'Armory' add-on to the bitcoin client, and their paper backup solution seems like the kind of thing I'm after.

i was looking for some solution to this as well other than having expensive setup or pc just to ensure my pc wont crash.
