There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I have gotten 60-65 for 5770s on both ebay and locally on craigslist(craigslist is always preferable)... That said, I wouldn't offer anymore than 40 for it shipped either.  Grin

You can get a new 7770 for $90 AR (higher efficiency), so there's little incentive to buy a 5770 for $80.  I think $50 shipped is reasonable.

I'd be more interested in a 7750 for $75. They don't require a 6pin PCIe power connector.

Where you findin 7750s for $75? I'd take that deal too but craigslist and ebay currently have people shooting for what they paid for it retail.

Wait, does it post? When running the ram at 300, it doesn't need a backplate to act as a heatsink for the ram. Now the fan missing...is that an issue where a 120mm fan and a few zip ties can fix?

I have a 5870 that makes a high pitched squeeling. The fan spins, but it won't post or display video. I haven't tried mining with it yet as a non display card. I also have a 6870 that intermittently gets picked up / drops out of Windows. It won't post video, but when it would show up it would mine fine. I took it apart, partially cleaned, and repasted it. I just tried it in a GD70 and it will not work as a display card, but I don't have any other open slots to test it in. Feel free to shoot me an offer on either.

NVidia 9800 GT manufactured by BFG: I've done some online research on this card. Apparently two versions were made- one that doesn't need to be hooked up to your power supply and one that does. This one does, although it was marketed as a low-power consuming card. It has one six-pin power input.

NVidia 8800 GTX: Manufactured by NVidia? Don't seen another brand on it. Gigantic card! Heavy as a tank, huge fan and heavy cooling. Dual 6 pin power input.

NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS manufactured by MSI: Needs no external power! Yay! Big heat sink, no fan.

All of these cards work as AFAIK, but I haven't tested the top two. I don't think the top two got much use.
Shipping is going to be an issue as the 8800 is HEAVY.

I want $30 (or equivalent BTC) + shipping. I would have to box them up and weigh them to find out how much shipping is.
