I didn't read this whole forum yet, but I have a 5970 that just started having problems on startup. Wanna help me troubleshoot, or is this what you're looking for? I see "for parts" or "as-is" 5970's listed on Ebay for $50-$100. I'm also up for trading for a working one and paying you $50 or $100 to get a working one so I can play Diablo III  Let me know your thoughts. |

I have a couple of Sapphire HD 5830 Xtremes + 1 of the same but non Xtreme version.
All three cards were used for mining (approx 6months) and all cards work well, mined
under low temps and with fans around 60-70% (depending on ambient temps). I have full
retail/original boxes and accessories for each card. They are VERY clean and were
used in a smoke free environment.

^ mostly looking for HD 5000, 6000, and 7000 generations. Try Ebay, sell them as a lot buy now style and list them for 29 days

I have a reference design 5970 that will post, but won't output video.
BAMT detects it, but when it begins mining the machine hangs.

i got a 5970 that will mine bitcoins fine but wont mine scrypt coins. if i get it hot first it will mine LTC. i might try to reflow it if that fails are you interested?

Andrew is good at what he does!
Got my card to mine, but I needed a gaming card, so I told him he could keep it.
I broke down and bought a 7970 so I can keep mining/ playing Diablo 3.

Yeah... card is mining away as we speak... Unfortunately not every repair can get cards to stop artifacting... someday when I have the time and money I might get a bga reball setup.

I've got 2 5970's and a 5870 eyefinity 6 port.
1 5970 spins. died suddenly overnight. redid pads, still wont post.
1 5970 works, but gpu0 is flaky. VRM runs too hot on 2 phases. Tried everything still wont run cool. Second gpu is fine mines away all day long at 950 mhz.
5870 eyefinity, it popped a capacitor ( exploded and blew things off board ). I replaced with same under microscope by hand but still get no video out. Used to mine, without video out. Stopped working. It's a pain in the ass to hand solder <1mm SMD.
