If you can't beat them, join them. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/booknews/11517877/Mindy-Kalings-brother-pretended-to-be-black-to-get-into-medical-school.htmlChokalingam was motivated to commit the fraud by the fact that he had a relatively low Grade Point Average of 3.1. Suspecting that certain US universities were employing affirmative action and positively discriminating in favour of candidates with an African American background, he decided to "test" his theory by rebranding himself as a black man.
As well as shaving his head and trimming his lashes, Chokalingam also applied to colleges using his middle name, Jojo (his parents were inspired by the African American basketball player Jo Jo White) and emphasised the fact that he had spent time in Nigeria as a child in interviews.
According to his website, as a "black" candidate with a 3.1 GPA, Chokalingam was considered by medical schools including Harvard, Pennsylvania and Columbia, and was eventually accepted by St Louis University in Missouri

The med schools might not find it funny. As long as he didn't explicitly say he was Afro-American, he should be okay. Otherwise, he could be in serious trouble.

If you make race instead of merit your main criteria for medical admission, then it will in turn produce a generation of idiots as doctors. The US will be forced to import doctors from countries such as Russia and India, as the local doctors won't be able to stay competitive.

They only do this to round out the numbers so the school looks good. Probably not more than 5%

He's pointing out their own blatant discrimination, the only thing he's guilty of is calling them out on their bullshit so of course they're not going to like it, established institutions like these never like anybody who makes them look bad. The best part is, the guy isn't even white, so that's screwing them over even more because they can't pull the old "You're racist" crap as easily, what's also interesting is the Telegraph have disabled the comments, most likely because it would be full of people going we told you so.

I found the story hilarious when I read it the other day. Since when is being black a benefit in America? I would have thought it would be easier for an Asian to get in than and African to be honest. Lold.

The evidence is right there, it's just some people like to stay in absolute denial about it, also in regards to Asians, I guess depending on which asians they actually come from comparitavely richer continents so they don't fit the racial stereotype of the poor discriminated black man that needs the help of a white Aristocracy.
...... Wow... Did I just have a Anarcho-communist style rant then?

That is because only the well-off Asians can afford to migrate to the US. Unlike the Mexicans, they can't cross the border illegally and then claim residency by producing a dozen anchor babies.

Not well-off Asians, but well-qualified Asians. It has primarily been working professionals - Doctors and Engineers who have migrated to the US. Naturally, they tend to do well once they are there.

(Red colorization mine.) Anarchism, the no-government system of socialism, has a double origin. It is an outgrowth of the two great movements of thought in the economic and the political fields which characterize the nineteenth century, and especially its second part. In common with all socialists, the anarchists hold that the private ownership of land, capital, and machinery has had its time; that it is condemned to disappear; and that all requisites for production must, and will, become the common property of society, and be managed in common by the producers of wealth. And in common with the most advanced representatives of political radicalism, they maintain that the ideal of the political organization of society is a condition of things where the functions of government are reduced to a minimum, and the individual recovers his full liberty of initiative and action for satisfying, by means of free groups and federations--freely constituted--all the infinitely varied needs of the human being.
(Red colorization mine.) No, you didn't say anything about the extinction of government and private ownership.

I'd still stick to the term "well-off", rather than "well-qualified". Recently I was reading an article, according to which rich Chinese are producing anchor babies at a rate of around 10,000 per year, so that eventually they will be granted with US green cards. Most of them are not that qualified. But none of them have any issues in splurging $25,000 to $75,000 in order to cover the expenses.

There is in my country at least so I'm surprised he felt he had to do this. Maybe he just got it wrong?

called affirmative action. less qualified blacks often get university places and jobs over whites need to be punished for slavery and now asians and orientals apparently have white privilege too (or something like that) http://www.dailystormer.com/princeton-university-gives-bonus-sat-points-to-blacks-and-latinos-penalizes-asians/African Americans received a “bonus” of 230 points, Lee says. She points to the second column. “Hispanics received a bonus of 185 points.” The last column draws gasps. Asian Americans, Lee says, are penalized by 50 points — in other words, they had to do that much better to win admission. “Do Asians need higher test scores? Is it harder for Asians to get into college? The answer is yes,” Lee says.

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

This is insane. Asians require a higher score than whites to get in? You are actually discriminating against a minority.

Asian Americans might be smaller in population size, but they are doing much better in the US than any other ethnic group, including the Non-Hispanic Whites. The average median income of Asian Americans is much higher than that of the Non-Hispanic Whites.

That doesn't make it a good thing I hope you realise, it's also incredibly condascending to the people on the receiving end of the preferencial treatment because they're practically saying if you're a certain race you're too stupid to get in and need some help which is racist in itself. By the way guys, this is what racism actually is, it's not about just saying a few words about a group of people, that's called racial stereotyping.

(Red colorization mine.) Attribution theory's fundamental distinction leads quite naturally to its fundamental rule: When a behavior occurs in the presence of a sufficiently strong, facilitative force, an observer should not infer that the actor is predisposed to perform that behavior. Just as one should not conclude that a balloon that rises on a windy day is filled with helium, one cannot make unequivocal inferences about the abilities of an athlete, the convictions of a politician, or the mental health of a student when poor lighting, a roomful of opinionated voters, or sudden bad news may have induced their behaviors. In other words, one should not explain with dispositions that which has already been explained by the situation. This logical rule was first formalized by Jones and Davis (1965) as the law of noncommon effects and later extended and codified by Kelley (1967) as the discounting principle, which warns observers not to attribute an effect to any one causal agent (e.g., a disposition) when another plausible causal agent (e.g., a situational force) is simultaneously present. In other words, when people do precisely what the physical environment or the social situation demands, dispositional inferences are logically unwarranted.
(Red colorization mine.) Princeton has implemented an ad hoc “correction” for the varying upbringings of its prospective students. “[T]hey’re practically saying” (Lethn) that one ought not suffer academic mediocrity for the constitution of its “birth culture.”
