Got an odd e-mail from news@coinbase.com:

Looks like an email trying to look like its from coinbase, theres scripts where you can send an email to anyone while claiming to be anyone.

Yeah, I got the same email today and it was to an email address that I ONLY use for financial stuff, so the scammers are not sending this mails out randomly, they have hacked Coinbase's mailing list!

It is not their database that was hacked.
I use this mail for sensitive things only, but i never registered at Coinbase.

Hmm i'm signed up at coinbase but i didn't get this email, hope no serious info was leaked from database..probably just emails even if that.
It even may be insider job Wink

The only online casino on which i won something. I made 17mBTC from 1mBTC in like 15 minutes.  This is not paid AD!

If Coinbase did get hacked, they should address on their blog or send a mass email warning all their userbase immediately.

That said, if you've been using Coinbase, you most likely have 2 Factor Authentication involved for any transactions, so any fool that falls for this, kinda deserves it.

2FA man, 2FA!  No one blindly sends money to an address or QR code without 2FA!!!

It must be multiple sources, as i have never registered with that mail at Coinbase nor "Bitcointalk, Localbitcoins and Kraken" as suggested in the other thread.

I got the same. It not trustable at all. What make me nervous that they inlcude my name in the mail the same way how I have it in the my Coinbase profile. This smell fishy Huh
