Hello everyone,

After the huge success of the first two free MOOCs on Digital Currencies, MOOC 3 returns on April 20, 2015 with 12 live online classes taught by Andreas Antonopoulos and Antonis Polemitis in a synchronous and asynchronous e-Learning environment.

This is your chance to get further acquainted, or refresh your knowledge, on up-to-date developments in Bitcoin and related technologies, and acquire a Certificate of Accomplishment verified through the Bitcoin blockchain. An overview of the topics covered can be found here

You can join anytime at http://mooc.universityofnicosia-online.com/

For students interested in continuing their studies, the University of Nicosia also offers the first Master of Science Degree in Digital Currency, which is available for students worldwide in the English language.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

The MOOC touches working with bitcoind and qt, but it is mostly geared towards a more spherical understanding of the core infrastructure and ecosystem, so it can be approached regardless of discipline.

The MSc itself has electives directed towards developers, including courses in:

- Cryptographic Systems Security
- Digital Currency Programming
- Distributed Systems
- Digital Currencies in Motion

You can find and overview of the individual courses here : http://digitalcurrency.unic.ac.cy/about-the-program/curriculum

I took the MOOC last year - it's solid. I would recommend it.
(I'm also part taking in the MSc now)

Thank you for the kind words batesresearch.

We are trying real hard to stay up to date in every offering, and include every important development that's happened in the space, since the last time the MOOC was offered.

For those that haven't had time to enroll in this class (we are in week 9 of 12), we are offering the MOOC again, starting September 7th.

You can join here : http://mooc.universityofnicosia-online.com/

The new free MOOC on Bitcoin and Digital Currencies by University of Nicosia is starting on the 7th of September.

After the phenomenal participation we've had on our previous courses (~2500 thousand students so far), we're continuing with constantly updated content and the weekly live Q&A sessions with Andreas Antonopoulos and Antonis Polemitis.

The course is devoted to covering all the core technical aspects surrounding Bitcoin, but also goes beyond; in the monetary, financial, regulation and innovation aspects as well :

Join us here : http://digitalcurrency.unic.ac.cy/

For those interested in the Master of Science Degree in Digital Currency, which is available for students worldwide in the English language; the first cohort will be graduating this winter.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Yes, it is the first and only University Degree on the topic.

It does demand a good foundation bachelor's degree, but it goes in great depth on everything we examine on the MOOC. Every weekly session of the MOOC becomes a fully fledged 6 weeks course that covers Finance, Banking, Regulation, Innovation and more. After the core studies, there are electives for those desiring a developer orientation : Cryptography, Distributed Systems, Programming Digital Currencies, etc

Here's a list of the full MSc curriculum :
