Some question about cross advertising, is it allow in this forum or is that any specific rules about this?
Not to point my fingers but I have seen quite a few post saying something like this is in some signature campaign thread
" X campaign got higher payout than yours, why should anyone join yours "

It's usually not allowed to advertise in others threads but if users are just stating another camping has higher rates and/or is better etc then there's probably nothing wrong with that. Are you referring to this thread/these sorts of posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1019714.msg11043156#msg11043156

Yes , one of that, so there is no specific rules about cross advertising? Although I thought that the participants of X campaign saying X campaign got higher payment or better in A or B term could be considered as cross advertising as well

I dont know why it isnt deleted, as Im the one making this thread and im still seeking for answer, my opinion is that he is not advertising another sales thread rather pointing out something which is free by your logic, if you think that if a campaign managers start advertising their campaign in another thread, I have seen the campaign manager of X campaign quoting something from his campaign about quality poster that deserve a better pay rates, and posted it in Y campaign Not going to quote it, I will not directly either point my finger, but you should know which I am talking about

Nothing wrong in it and it should not be moderated. If you want such protection, run your own website/blog. You can not expect posting in a free public forum and competitors allow you to run your thread peacefully. In worst case, run a self-moderated thread, but everyone will doubt your intentions then...

I have too seen campaign managers doing the same as it is quite immature to say what other managers should do and what they should not. Members have a right to say that they are disappointed but yeah, recommending other campaigns is not the right way as the campaign would suffer due to that. I do feel that campaign managers should just avoid posting in other campaign threads.

It's not wrong but just silly and immature. Hijacking a thread was supposed to be against the rules but I don't know why those threads were not deleted and hence I opened a self moderated thread. I don't bother if anyone doubts my intentions or not as I equally don't find these peoples' intentions sensible. Regarding running my own blog/website, that's my wish what I should do or not do. Thanks for your advise.

I don't think it should be disallowed.
Competition (no matter how tough or sneaky) is healthy for a free market (and a key part of it too).
Blatantly stating this is better than is unethical at worst.

How awesome that my post is linked in the meta section. But I need to say that it wasn't advertising of any sort and if you think I am trying to discredit this business or individual person you are gravely wrong. All I am trying to do is to help this signature campaign and maybe enlighten its manager, and tell him what he is doing wrong and what he can do to grab attention of bitcointalk users. I saw many signature campaigns with idiotic rules and stupid requirements and it is better to tell manager now that people won't be interested so he can react and raise rates, change post requirements or do something more to promote his business. I can see that some people here are allergic to constructive criticism...

It is not your post, but someone else post, your intention may be for a good purposes and Apart from that, I still think that saying that "X campaign got a better term" is not good, and Im making this thread to ask about the cross advertising issue, since I dont see any rules regarding that

It shouldn't be allowed. It simply hurts healthy competition. For instance, I cannot find a single post in the thread I am managing of say Carra23 or Stingleword or Neotox or most of the campaign managers. We naturally respect each other and others will respect them too. Posts that help each other out should be allowed though, since there are quite a good number of campaign managers who help other even competing campaigns too. Though it may not be possible to place a strict rule against all such, they should be discouraged. We should be able to distinguish from what is good and what is clearly unprofessional.

I think he was more likely referring to posts like this, which are unprofessional and are spam. I reported it and a few others like it but I think most are still there. If this kind of activity is allowed then you will see nothing more then business owners posting in eachothers threads promoting their own business.

And that is great definition, but I would like to point that it wasn't forbidden and I think it still shouldn't be any official rules regarding that matter. I feel that if you are gentleman running your business, you should be decent enough person to be able to understand that this kind of advertising can bite you in the ass in the end.

In my honest opinion the mod should intervene only if there will be a spam, but as someone said here "this is a free market" and I can post whatever I want (in respect of the other users, this is normal).

Free market does not means that you can post whatever crap you want in another people thread. you should do some research before posting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_marketA free market is a market system in which the prices for goods and services are set freely by consent between sellers and consumers, in which the laws and forces of supply and demand are free from any intervention by a government, price-setting monopoly, or other authority

Posts in India and some other boards do generally take some time to get deleted. But its actually very weird that they haven't been deleted yet. Although I didn't find any case of cross posting in the first link that you gave. But the posts in the recharge thread should have been deleted. You can ask Benson to take action on the posts(send him a PM).

there is no rules regarding this which I can find that is why Im asking is it allowed or disallowed, being gentleman or not got nothing to do with this, at some point I believe, there will be the peak of being annoyed with this kind of cross advertising
