Hello,

In "Auctions", post can't be edited which is good. But I realized we can move thread out of Auctions[1] and can be edited. Shouldn't "move topic" be disable in Auctions? Can we know whether a user moved a topic if he didn't make a notification post and edited it if the edit was before 10 minutes?

Also, when this came into mind, I was wondering what will happen if a self-moderated thread is moved from Digital Goods to Auctions? Will OP get an error or will self-moderation feature be disabled for OP? Does SMF support automatic and/or manual disabling of self-moderation in these cases or if a global mod and/or admin want to?

[1] I realized this a while ago when I moved my auction of an account thread to Digital Goods to get more views but it was moved back to Auctions by a mod because I forgot to change OP.

Thank you!

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

If it's moved out of there then it's no longer an auction and any bids would probably just become invalid, but some people move them from there to Digital Goods or whatever once they see there's no interest giving it's a less popular sub.

Yes. That's what I did. If the post is moved but OP isn't edited, it will be moved back to Auctions by a mod. Also, users can edit/delete their post if it is moved which is not good as editing/deleting is disabled in Auvtions.

Here is the questions I need to get an answer:

Shouldn't "move topic" be disable in Auctions?

Can we know whether a user moved a topic if he didn't make a notification post and edited it if the edit was before 10 minutes?

what will happen if a self-moderated thread is moved from Digital Goods to Auctions? Will OP get an error or will self-moderation feature be disabled for OP?

Does SMF support automatic and/or manual disabling of self-moderation in these cases or if a global mod and/or admin want to?

Agree with you. If someone wants to move out of auction ,the only way should be that closing the auction thread, and all the bids are invalid. Then , open a new topic in goods section.

No idea about others since Im not staff.

These two questions have been answered by mprep. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1026785.msg11119617#msg11119617

Self-moderation will be disabled.

Does SMF support automatic and/or manual disabling of self-moderation in these cases or if a global mod and/or admin want to?

According to mprep's post, probably, only admins can disable self-moderation.

No. Sometimes people decide they don't want to auction something any more so move it to Goods.

That can happen but it kinda beat the purpose of disabling edit in Auctions. People can move and edit their posts easily.

But if they move it out of there then it ceases being an auction so it doesn't matter.

I meant thread moved from Auctions to (Digital) Goods and edit post(s) and move it back to Auctions. Here, 'move topic' could help in editing posts.
