Bitcoin Nodes and Why They Are Important

In the Bitcoin network nodes share, connect and agree (or disagree). A node will share the blockchain, and will validate each block, or discard if false. And with that creating agreement with the nodes resulting in a network that can validate blocks (work). Making that a  solution will be propagated through the network, and marked as valid or invalid. Which creates trust.

It makes me feel proud to run a full node to support the network. I am even considering to run another full node on one of my servers that I don't use often.

Europe and USA are by far the largest provider of nodes. I hope other continents will follow as well. Currently below 7000 nodes is quite low if you ask me.

It does not take much to run a full node. To donate an older laptop and some bandwidth is not a big deal and it's easy to set up. It costs some money, but for me bitcoin is also culture, and I can learn something as a side effect. And who does not spend money for culture and education?
