Bitlane is the hero bitcointalk.org deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

or possibly just an idiot. or maybe even a sockpuppet for pirate to drive the prices up or down.

This would be pretty funny.

I'm getting my popcorn ready for this.

Dear Pirate,

Can you please at least pay Bitlane his coins so he'd quit making terrible threads?

Sincerely,
Everybody

Bitlame's threads are terrible.  Terribly entertaining that is.  I love reading his impotent ALLCAPS laced rants of Internet Tough Guy hilarity.

Smoothie is right, it's time to get the popcorn ready for our latest Bitcoin misadventure.

Bitlame must have broken Rule #1 of investing and sent pirate more than he can afford to lose.  Much more, judging by how high the pitch of his screeching and how loud his blustering baffoonery have become.

Hell, I'll pay pirate BTC100 to not ever give Bitlame one satoshi just to keep watching the meltdown go totally China Syndrome.   Cheesy

But then I'd owe almost 5,000BTC so I'd have to offer him more. lol

Maybe we can convince (ie bribe) nanotube to create an exception to The Bet, just for Bitlame.   Cheesy

But I am not going off of anyone else's terms, just mine. I would have to modify my own bet to exclude bitlane, and I don't think anyone would agree to that, much less do I want to try and track down everyone and get their consent to that.

Smaller accounts is apparently getting paid already according to Pirate himself on IRC. Proof posted by another guy on IRC:

As predicted:

Anyway, let me remind you all that the stalling tactics were predictable and have been predicted. Another prediction, by the way, is that he may pay out a few small accounts to stall for even longer.

If he represented a serious business, he would, of course, pay his biggest, best customers first. But then he would not shut down a smoothly running business in the first place.

The stalling tactic makes only sense if you're still accepting deposit and "operating" the ponzi.

Pirate said he was closing and not accepting new deposit. Now tell why the fuck would he stay around and pretend to be working at paying us back?

Because he needs time to sell his furniture before hopping on the plane to Somalia.

it bothers me that someone would use an uncle scrooge avatar and in anyway support pirate and his business practices/model.

the real uncle scrooge would laugh at the thought of parting with his money in such a haphazardly way.

change it

Pirate has a legitimate business. Wanna bet?

Isn't this, together with bitlane's PMs, grounds for a scammer tag? What a cunt.

The thought occurred to me that bitlane followed a fair strategy—he tried to be so much of a pain that the pirate would pay him to make him shut up, knowing or guessing that very few, if anybody, would be paid after that.

The weak point in this strategy is that, if it had worked, others might have followed suit, so the pirate may well have reckoned that paying bitlane would not win him much time. In any case, he did not give in. The strategy has not worked. So, back to catching and squeezing him.

By the way, it would be very good for bitcoin if scammers and fraudsters would be caught and punished.

anyone who trusted pirate with their coins, is certainly not capable of doing the DD necessary to anonymously contract such services. Without getting scammed, *again*.

How long will you give it?

I bet most of the laughter has already taken place. Maybe left one more week of laughs. Then it will just get quieter.

I'll take that bet!  I'm very optimistic that the best laughs are still to come, especially when The Bets are decided.
