I'd hire an HTML guy before PR. Seriously, the site looks awful
It would literally take an experienced coder less than one day of CSS to stylize and format the page so it isn't a total eye sore. Yes, literally. Again, the entry fee for 1 account is 20 BTC. For 20 BTC, the site could look great. For 40, it could look as good as GLBSE. There's a plethora of freelance HTML guys on this forum.

I think he wanted to divert from Pirate40 drama with this stupidity. Who, me? What stupidity? The facts? They're facts, matey I don't think he succeeded, Matthew did well though. Honestly, I just wanted a central repository for all of the reasons MPEX/MPOE is shit. SD IPO surely succeeded in scaring serious investors aways from bitcoin. The SD IPO was/is a tragedy So much face-palm in a row my brain hurts.
Did you crack your skull?

I feel bad about polluting evoorhees' thread about S.DICE. So I'm going to spew my Facts, Uncertainties, and Debates here. Fact. GLBSE's weekly volume is larger than MPEX's monthly volume. Fact. MPEX costs 20 BTC (sometimes 15) just to sign up. Fact. GLBSE has its own domain name (yeesh, 10 bucks a year is harsh man). MPEX hangs off of http://polimedia.us/Fact. The domain is registered fraudulently. Fact. Porn is hosted on that same domain, polimedia.us Fact. The owner of MPEX has attempted to sell NSFW photos of herself. Fact. The owner of MPEX steals content from other websites, including images. Opinion MPEX looks like shit. Seriously. "border=1"? No CSS3? We have a highschool teenager on these forums whose website looks many times better. And is porn-free. Debate MPEX is managed by an untrustworthy romanian pornstar whose hobby is to post libel about GLBSE through the MPOE-PR forum account. The free market has ensured that its high entrance fee means very little volume. And it's an eye-sore. I shall be staying away, thank you very much. That's all for now, folks. In addition to which, the romanian wannabe-pornstar doesn't seem to know that much about trading or investing, which seems pretty elementary for someone who runs an exchange. Seriously, I saw her try to explain that the only reason not everyone is buying AAPL is because not everyone can afford it. Sweet mother of god

DEPOSIT|{sum}, where the sum is an integer, written in BTC (note that you can not deposit less than 10 BTC). You will be quoted an exact sum, which you must send to the exchange address (1Fx3N5iFPDQxUKhhmDJqCMmi3U8Y7gSncx). Don't round anything, the decimals are there to identify you as the beneficiary. You will be credited the full amount. This sounds like nothing could ever go wrong. Identify deposits by their decimals.

Against MPEx will be both their own GPG-signed reply (that clearly mentions address and exact amount) and your transaction in the blockchain.

You end up with a proof signed by the same key everyone else uses. It would be hard to just claim the payment was not sent to the address (There's a single address to deposit for everyone). One gpg key signing it, one deposit address for everyone to check in the blockchain. Signed statement + blockchain shown deposit... seems pretty solid proof for me.

He mad because no one buying his sexy pictures and no one wants to send a 650$ start-up fee. If you are one of the people who wrote these emails to me, you are an idiot. There is no discussion possible, you are an idiot. If you are one of the others, who cnat even wtire, but make up the chunk of ~90 or so people who discovered to their surprise and displeasure that they have to pay in order to acquire a seat at the exchange from the account confirmation email, you are just as much an idiot. Perhaps not an equally vocal one, but your head doesn’t work enough to power a goat.
I do not believe idiots have any place in this world. You people shouldn’t be alive. Until you grow some balls to resolve this problem yourself, please crawl into a hole somewhere and stay there. I do not wish to ever see you, talk to you or in any way interact with you. Nobody else does. You’re humanity’s dead weight, you’re the cause everything costs more, takes longer and is less cool.
Just die already.
Because these idiots won’t fucking die already, everyone else has to be inconvenienced. I deeply regret this. If it were practical I’d just kill them all with my own hand. Unfortunately, it is not practical, and so with my deepest and most sincere apologies to sane people everywhere I have to modify the MPEx FAQ. From now on, if the phrase “I understand that I will be required to pay 30 BTC as fees for registering this account, and I agree and promise to do so.” does not appear in the email containing your key, it will be (silently) discarded.
Really? Wonder why he's walking the Earth then... only idiots would call other people idiots for not sending them 30 BTC to use a shitty site with shitty stocks. The only stock worth anything there is S.DICE but even that's a BIG STRETCH Stuff from the rest of the thread: Looking at 2011, -68,000 profit lol whatever that is He gets paid to post stupid shit? I'd hire an HTML guy before PR. Seriously, the site looks awful

Every day I am sure multiple people send 20 BTC (420$) .... I am more than positive he has the budget to make that <pre> looking site look good In addition to which, the romanian wannabe-pornstar doesn't seem to know that much about trading or investing, which seems pretty elementary for someone who runs an exchange. Seriously, I saw her try to explain that the only reason not everyone is buying AAPL is because not everyone can afford it. Sweet mother of god To be fair, he was insulting someone's wallet more so than actually defending AAPL (which has plummeted in the last 6 months and all the people who listened to me saved 200$ per share.)

Mircea Popescu : Only for idiots. Nobody counts what niggers think, and nobody counts what idiots think. This is like saying “you know… in Japan all they’ll notice is how tall people are in this sketch”. Um… yaok.
Her : It’s not a matter of whether your readers are rich or poor, American or otherwise. You are not in a small percentage. You are alone. Mircea Popescu : Still makes no difference. Those people do not matter. This also means they can be as many as they want. Adding more people to stupidity doth not buy it any respectability. Wat? So... I mean.. like... seriously... wat? Shit, I think a lot of people are idiots, but he's literally admitting to being in a minority of 1 and calling everyone else who's not in that minority idiots, which encompasses literally every other person on the planet, by definition. While I can agree a good majority of the people on this planet are, in fact, idiots, at least I'll give them the opportunity to demonstrate it before I paint them with that brush. But wait, there's more! Her : Do you actually not grasp that this does not come through at all? Or do you just not care? Mircea Popescu : I just do not care.
Her : I mean seriously… how is someone supposed to know this? Mircea Popescu : It is every reader’s job to either get the words right or seek help. Now... I'm no professional writer or an awesome blogger or anything, but it was my understanding that it's the writers job to make the reader understand his (or her) intentions and meaning, not the other way around. If the reader doesn't understand, under most circumstances, it's a failure of the writer not the reader.

Okay, I am undecided now Mircea posts some intelligent thoughts in the blog, and I kind of admire him/her? for doing things that others haven't been doing. But after all that porn, negative p/l statements what comes to actual, incorporated businesses, and paying people to post under fake accounts, what should I be trusting? (Also s/he has not commented on my idea, how to structure a bitcoin company, I put it there to probe his/her IQ, and so far I am dissatisfied with no answer, other than one-liners calling me "a nobody with nothing", despite powerful evidence to the contrary.) If there is anyone who actually owns the shares in S.MPOE, how about showing up to give the thing some credit? I think it would be good for the prospects of your shares. I have considered shorting it in a serious way, which would destroy your value. There is a realistic possibility to me, that S.MPOE is in fact not owned by many actual individuals, rather than by few with multiple forum and bitcoin accounts. So please, consider my offer and be forewarned. I am just a messenger. I know big boys are entering the bitcoin arena now, and no matter whether these suspicions of mine prove out to be correct or not, I do not see much chance for S.MPOE to beat BTC in the years coming. (BTC should be doing great.)

Since it has pretty much been all pump might be worth while if the terms gave enough time. Sooner or later he or greater fools will run out of BTC. What pump? How? Isn't S.MPOE paying ample dividends? Hasn't MPOE public and well functioning business model? To me it's evident Mircea is NOT motivated in any way to disrupt it by faking anything. And as for my own experience, I have participated in S.MPOE IPO (back in April 2012 when it was done by email) and already got several times more bitcoins back by occassionally selling part of the shares. Also, I was successfully scalping it during periods of increased trade activity, making up to 1BTC/day (with crude code that was originally intended only to pound out bugs from coinbr codebase ) Also CoinBr activity increasingly proves there is genuine MPEx trading by hundreds of people. It already paid out several BTC total in referrals only, what you can independently confirm by asking in #bitcoin-assets. Oh yeees, there's realistic possibility I got all this out of Mircea's or some other fool's pocket (why is that fool silent, then?), lol. I'm not trying to prove anything here, just presenting my POV that it served me well. Much better than spewing accusations on btctalk.
