Hi guys.

I've been buying bitcoins bit by bit and eventually when the price rises up again I'd like to sell some of them.
Is there an exchange that is trusted kinda like MT.Gox where I can just put them into when I want to cash a few of them out for fiat?

I'm buying off of localbitcoins at the moment however when I am eventually ready to sell a few I won't have any 'trust' to sell them.

If someone could help me out it'd be appreciated.

Cheers,
Merve.

You could always head over to the currency exchange forum. There are plenty of reputable exchangers there that could do a quick trade with you at a decent rate with minimal fees. Reduce the risk of any incidents happening by using a professional escrow service on the forums. The risk for scamming can be relatively high so be sure to precede with caution in the form of payments you take and such. Good luck.

why not do it here? use a trusted rep escrow, like tomatocage or someone similar then set the rates w. escrow.

Either make a thread or respond one thats stating they`ll buy, and you should be good.

The reason is depending on country there are some easy ways to do it.  For example US with coinbase.  You could sell and have it go to straight to your bank account.

I personally didint want it linked with normal checking I made a checking account for buying and selling BTC.  With that and coinbase its very easy to buy or sell.

You are buying from localbitcoin so each time you buy you should be getting good feedback and completed trades so your trust is building even though you are buying. I have brought quite a bit from there and my trust built enough to sell from just buying there.

Also depending when you want to sell and how much you can just sell them slightly under what most sellers are because you can sell to someone who wants to buy and build your trust more a seller. You could also try bittylicious where trust does not really matter as much.

[....]an exchange that is trusted kinda like MT.Gox [....]

Is that sarcasm I smell? Mt.Gox is exactly the opposite of what we call trusted exchanges on this forum.

Anyway...  you can try
- Kraken
- BTCe
- BitStamp

These are known exchanges with good reputation. BitStamp got hacked few weeks back, but it has come back with added security.

you can try coinimal, they seems good, they don't held your money, everything is processed directly between your wallet and your debit/credit card

this mean that even if the exchange get hacked your coins are safe(at least going by logic, i didn't get enough info about hwo it work exactly)

Haha, now I've re-read the original post it does seem that way.
I meant a trusted exchange that was big kinda like MT Gox was.

Also; I'm located in Australia for those asking.

There are many methods to sell Bitcoin, try a trusted Bitcoin exchange.
If you can't use any, visit LocalBitcoins for a local exchange.

Nothing specific. Even highly trusted Mt. Gox & BitStamp was hacked.

You did not specify from which country you are. But, as you are trying out LocalBitcoins, may be you can give a try to www.100bit.co.in as well. Do not expect high volume though...

Check our service www.247exchange.com/sell. We're licensed Bitcoin exchanger. In Australia we offer local bank transfer (in AUD) as a withdrawal method - it usually arrives the same or next business day. Also, we can send money to your credit or debit card.

You could always sell small amounts on localbitcoins so you gradually build up feedback. The alternative is to trade with some trusted members on here (use an escrow!) or sign up to some of the other exchanges (bare in mind you will need to get verified to cash out to fiat).

PS: Avoid Paypal Wink

Other than the options already presented here, you could also try Neteller or Payza to sell your coins; you need a verified account for that (I think), but after that, the process itself is quick and painless. In addition, if you have, for example, Neteller's debit card, you can deposit the btc in your account, get fiat, and immediately spend it through the card.

You can try out Bit-X or Cex.io, both are fine as soon as my preferences are concerned...
I have always been with Bit-X and never had any problems exchanging my BTC for USD, the experience was great...
