Coinedup is missing from the list. It was the first exchange to list Dogecoin and had big volume for a while. It didn't get hacked but closed down due to low volume eventually. I remember it went offline for a few days without telling anyone why, and everyone thought they had been scammed. People probably stopped using it after that.

Did anyone add Moolah? lol, i remember I was almost investing on there.
It's normal that many fail in this new revolution, startups fail all the time, in this unexplored scenareo its even easier, but those that win will make billions.

Its sad to see them fail, but many of those were never going to make it anyway.  Undecided

It might be cool to see that list with the reason for failure next to each one. For example Tradehill was a good company which could not find it's way through the regulation. While Silk Road faild because of it's criminal nature.

That would be difficult to get consensus from everyone on why a company specifically failed. For example, some could argue that empty gox failed because they were inept to prevent a hack which lead to their fractional reserve scheme that eventually blew up (along with the US government freezing $5 mil of their money which prevented recovery).

Im certainly not defending them what so ever (I think Mark is scummy, or at the very least a very poor CEO), but there could be several reasons why a company has failed. I just used them as an example since you mentioned them Smiley.

That's an huge list, but expected when you are dealing in unseen territory. I hope we don't see Poloniex on that list, right now is my to-go crypto trading exchange.

yeah, but these starts up that are 'still here' are burning up millions in investors cash while producing NOTHING.  Burning money while trying to make these get going is not going to last forever.  Who is actually bringing in as much money as there is going out?  Let me answer the question = NOBODY

Seals woth Clubs and Justcoin weren't scams.

Definitely not a scam. In October last year, Justcoin had to shut down after a new regulation prohibiting Norwegian banks from accepting businesses dealing with cryptocurrencies was announced. So they immediately gave notice of closure. In November, ANX approached them with a deal, offering Hong Kong based banking facility. Justcoin relaunched, but no longer serve as a Ripple/Stellar gateway.
