Fantastic news! I hope to see every time a new (micro)nation starts to accept bitcoin as national currency.

This is just great. Im gonna visit (whats there) next week. If Croatian police allows . Since they didn't allow any body to go there last few days.
And from Serbian side u can only go there with a boat.

Remember to visit also their banks , a bitcoin bank! Yuppi....

There is nothing like that atm. In that "country" there are only like few houses and thats all Cheesy .

Both Serbia and Croatia claim this place as their own. The idea that nobody claims it part of its territory is totally unfounded.

No... Actually both Serbia and Croatia DON'T want that land Cheesy .

Serbia wants a border on the middle of the river , and Croatia doesn't want that because of some other parts . So according to Serbia, Liberland is in Croatia, and according to Croatia Liberland is Serbia.

So its nobody's land and he claimed it which he has every right to do Cheesy .

Only few houses? Why the are proclaimed themselves 'a new republic'? This is really no sense (If I can say my personal opinion). If there is not services like: hospitals, banks, schools etc... they cannot proclaim a new republic (or am I wrong?).

U are wrong . U can proclaim new republic on any peace of land or whatever that is not in any other country Cheesy .

Check sealand its a country on a old oil platform .

And liberland is only few days old so ofc infrastructure doesn't exist.

But tbh im more and more feeling like this is scam. Now they are saying everybody who donates 200$ will get theirs flag shipped anywhere in the world. It could be that they are just trying to have fun and get some quick buck and then abandon project.

You can also proclaim a new republic in the middle of Times Square. Folks might not take you too seriously, but  if that's the sort of thing you're into...

It would be more complicated Cheesy .

Nice experiment this Liberland thing. Even tho im afraid it's going to turn out as some sort of place where the rich store their assets to avoid any taxes, and not much else.

They will be rly lucky if it comes to that . Which i dont think will happen anytime soon.

Atm that is a country from like stone age.

I will repeat that country has only couple of houses and lots off woods , nothing more.

Yes it is a good idea but if 'their idea' will die after few months that there is something wrong, isn't it?

PS: Maybe we should create "BitcoinLand" but we will use only fiat instead to use btc, what do you think ? // sarcasm.

Ahmm...why is the official language of this "country" Czech although it is located between Croatia and Serbia, hundreds of kilometers away from the Czech Republic?  Grin

Because the state's founder Vít Jedlička is from Czech Republic.

Nice experiment this Liberland thing. Even tho im afraid it's going to turn out as some sort of place where the rich store their assets to avoid any taxes, and not much else.

I think that so. I think they are trying to build an utopia. Who knows maybe it comes true. Smiley

It's going to become a resort for rich families to store their wealth with low taxes as some pointed, thats what I personally see this project turning into. The country is in between of pretty conflicting areas to both. I wouldn't feel safe there. It would have been cooler if they did it on some island.

Serbia and Croatia wont touch it without permission from European union and NATO .

Serbia can't touch.. but Croatia can. That is because, as per the internationally recognized boundaries, Liberland is a part of Croatia. It is the Croatians, who are refusing to take ownership. But remember that they can change their stance at anytime, and it does not require prior permissions from the European Union.

If this "state" is not offically acknowledged by the European Union they don't bother about Croatia or Serbia annexing Liberland.

Serbia and Croatia wont touch it without permission from European union and NATO .

Serbia can't touch.. but Croatia can. That is because, as per the internationally recognized boundaries, Liberland is a part of Croatia. It is the Croatians, who are refusing to take ownership. I will say you why it will be ended in few months: Noone will accept Liberland as regular republic, there is no reason for do this, Liberland cant offer to our civilization anything anymore, and by the way there were lot of "republics" like this one for last decades, but only one wasnt accepted so there will be not new country also there will be not republic which's national payment will be BTC  Angry
Not even the rich that want to store their wealth without any regulations and under secretive banking policies will want to use Libertard to store their monies, when they have Caiman Islands, Switzerland etc. It just sounds too corny to begin with.
