I was confused at first after reading the thread title since I thought it was going to be something like CoinWarz, until I realized I played this game a few months ago. It's actually pretty cool. It even had the Mt. Gox crash and a graph showing the price going up and down like a rollercoaster.

Do you mean this game, or mining profit calculators in general? The obvious reason why someone would want to use a mining profit calculator is to check to see if mining with a particular hardware at a particular cost is worth it or not. Say for instance you decide to buy a miner capable of x GH/s for $y with $z electricity costs. You can put those numbers into the calculator and make a decision as to whether or not you'll purchase it based on the results.

This, obviously, isn't such a calculator.
