Bruce Fenton, the newly elected chief of Bitcoin Foundation, is confident that decentralized crowdfunding can help the foundation stand back on its feet.

With the foundation under a new management, they will be looking for regular feedback from the individual and corporate members of the foundation.

Yeah right. Now tell me, who the hell in their right mind would want to donate money to the bitcoin foundation and what would they get in return? I really think they're going to need to look at alternative funding methods or just become a charity full of volunteers. I wont be sad to see the foundation dissolve or disappear any way so it can do what it likes in my opinion.

I'm not too fond of any sort of bitcoin foundation. A tech as decentralized as bitcoin doesn't need that.

Ask the stranger he knows who you really are.

Whether we like it or not, most humans have a need to put a 'face' to something, especially when it's new and relatively difficult to wrap your head around.

There shouldn't be a central authority by any means, but a readily accessible group of knowledgeable people is a useful thing.

The bitcoin foundation needs a "face" on bitcointalk to listen to the real bitcoin users. When they are doing a good job, more are willing to donate.
