Apparently this guy was unaware that carrying a gun in New York City is HIGHLY ILLEGAL.

This person needs to be made aware that he violated a huge number of regulations, laws, and employer policies!

Well looks like he didn't kill anyone at the scene, he shot his ex coworker earlier in the morning.

So it;s a victory for Bloomberg, since he play the tunes that NYPD will protect everyone. And in this case, they did.

There are reports that the Police injured a lot of bystanders while shooting the suspect.

Yes.  Actually the police are the ones who did the mass shooting.  The original shooter only shot his intended victim and fired no more bullets.

Correction to your propaganda: The original shooter murdered someone. The police caused graze wounds, and flakes of concrete to hit some people. One person was actually hit with a bullet.

I don't want to make a joke out of this...

...but the guy was a graphic designer.  I read an article which showed his work and it was all about pirates.

Seriously.  Still trying to find the damn link...

Correction to your distortion of the facts: The original shooter murdered someone, and the police murdered someone and caused graze wounds to, and flakes of concrete to hit, a total of 9 other people.

lol no it was tongue in cheek.

If guns are outlawed there can be no gun crime, which is a completely rediculous concept.

Switzerland and some north european countries have about the same amount of guns per habitants of US and extremely low gun killings.
Even Canada makes a stark difference.

False.  It is harder to get a gun in NYC legally but certainly not impossible.  The permit for premises only is not that hard to get.

What makes NYC have a low gun crime rate (and it does) is not the laws restricting legal guns, it is the HARSH PENALTIES for using a gun in a crime.  Unlike some other jurisdictions, NYC has tough sentencing as well and keeps gun using criminals in jail for longer times then other jurisdictions.

The message is simple, if you want a lower gun crime rate, treat gun using criminals harshly and do not restrict legal ownership.

If there were no guns in existence, then a no gun policy would work well.  Then we'd have a no spear, no bow, no crossbow policy, unless you're the police or military, of course.  Then we'd have crossbow free zones...

If guns kill people, we'd better disarm the military, police, and bodyguards, because those are mass murders waiting to happen!

I was in NYC. I had a gun. End of some discussion

Why do people always think cops are gun experts? I shoot my gun more in a month than an NYC cop shoots in a year.
These cops were scared shitless when they saw a gun pointed at them. So they just started blasting away with little regard for bystanders. I think they should loose their badge for this incident. Super poor performance. Sad

Not gun experts, better than average. A gun aficionado, like yourself, most like likely shoots much better.

One thing which I've learned about NYPD:

They used to have revolver with 12lb triggers, but for some retarded reason all of their current glocks require the same trigger.

Yes it's crazy. With that kind of trigger pull you are going to consistently miss your target and, in the case of an officer, endanger those around you.  As an example of what a mess that rule has been; Kahr arms made a bunch of guns to meet NYPD standards. I think it was a min of 6lbs.? Then they changed the rules again and stuck Kahr with a bunch of guns no serious shooter wants.
P.S. you may be able to pick up a deal on one of these guns online.
