I am surprised that we haven't seen a thread that was seriously taking bets regarding the ability of Matthew actually paying.. I think that he has good intentions, but I believe that he thought that Pirate was going to pay everyone.

This will be interesting. I never did read the fine print of the wager, but does Matt have an infinite amount of time to pay everyone off? or will he do it as he has the funds?

This site is too big to keep track of every single thread about everyone, maybe someone has 1. either already started a betting thread that Matt will not pay or 2. the terms of the bet allow Matt a long time to pay everyone..

Also, I wonder if Matt would have started this bet today? When Pirate announced the closing, he stated that he would start last Monday and hoped to have everything done by today.. Well, I haven't heard confirmed statement that pirate has started to pay anyone (except for a couple people claiming to have received 100 coins or some low amount)..

Also, if pirate was going to pay everyone back, why not keep sending out the interest payments? It sounds as if he had a good system down for that. Why not just keep it up until everyone gets paid? I guess thats all part of his "secret"...

I think Matt just caused a new round of drama..

I would bet that he would pay, isn't worth the loss of his reputation if you ask me.

I think so too. I totally believe that Matt has good intentions. Im just wondering if there is a "Matt won't pay" camp..

There. I made a bet agianst. The rules did not specify a minimum ammount Wink

Edit I really did bet in the thread MNW made. I should have known this thread pre-dated the other one.

This wasn't a thread to bet against Matthew. This thread was a question to see if SOMEONE made a thread saying that he didn't have the coins or willingness to pay back. I personally think that he does have enough and WILL pay out.

I was just asking a simple question and then made a few opinions. It looks like Matthew already started a thread betting people that he does indeed have the coins..

It wasn't my intentions to start something. I was just wondering when someone was going to accuse him of not 1.paying up or 2. not having enough coins to pay up...

I certainly do think he does have the funds and the willingness to pay everyone if he loses...

Matthew has an outstanding track record of keeping his promises and time limits (bitcoin magazine), so why should anyone doubt him ?
