What in your opinion is the sociological meaning of the popularity of minions?
These little bastards are everywhere atm, they are everywhere in UK anyway not sure elsewhere, they work for evil guys, there are many of them, they are pretty useless & powerless individually.
My theory is their popularity is partly down to society slowly becoming self aware of the current power structures. The kids pick up on the collective unconscious of society probably clearer than anyone. So if thats true the mass public are in a kinda stage of...... ok i see the power structure problem and for the time being im owning it until someone has a better idea - living life being a minion etc. The owning of a "problem" is often one of the first steps to gaining control of a problem. I think we are seeing early stages of big power structure changes.... do we have to look at minions to work that out? maybe, maybe not.
