25 years after HTTP and IP get their on 24/07 channel on American TV.
Bitcoin is a protocol.
And even big companies don't have channels speaking about them 24/07

We won't have a Bitcoin centered channel in near future I think... How long did it took Bloomberg to appear?

Why have a centralised news source at all? Besides, TV itself is basically just going to merge with the internet at some point. Everyone is already moving to "on demand" formats. Most of what people think of as "news" on TV is beamed out there with too much bias, so I'd rather have multiple sources rather than relying on a single point of (mis)information.

Yes, I understand the concept of "channel" is mutable.
I didn't expect the question to be taken in such a literal way - I was not implying there would be an "official" BTC group creating a channel. Only, that the protocol becomes so important that it is tracked by reporters and news agencies 24/7 in all its iterations (side chains, medium of exchange, store of value, etc). So, so far the answer is NEVER. Let's see what happens

There is no devoted 24hr channel on GBP or EUR, there will never be a channel on bitcoin. It will be a breakthrough if bloomberg quote bitcoin prices along with other world currencies.

You really think this entire protocol is nothing more than a coin or token? Seems like people here aren't too optimistic about the potential, very interesting, this sentiment. There is no devoted 24hr channel on GBP or EUR, there will never be a channel on bitcoin. It will be a breakthrough if bloomberg quote bitcoin prices along with other world currencies.

Why not? If the adoption rated of bitcoin is as large as US dollar. There are a lot of news happening around bitcoin. Some big broadcast company may open such a channel to do bitcoin or crypto related TV programs to attract the audiences. Probably we haven't seen a devoted fiat money channel yet, but there are a lot of related fiat money news happening every day, which are reported in different channel. We just haven't seen the integrated news channel named as devoted fiat money channel yet.

Once we have enough companies building apps which can be commercialized on TV. Somebody need to pay for marketing and make money of it.
BTC s not the best option for that, apps are.

If it gets any type of channel it would be online 24/7 and not just in america. I could see a possible 24/7 podcast/live radio show for bitcoin. Some news channels already do many live broadcasts.

channel are centralized, bitcoin should have nothing to do with it, also a thing like that isn't needed , because it will be in play only when bitcoin will reach mainstream status

An own channel just for BTC? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me, to be honest. But I could see Bitcoin being quoted in some networks' stock tickers in a couple of years or so - doesn't seem too unreasonable or improbable!

I think TV as we know it will never dissapear, or at least not until the current 30+yo generations are all dead which are the ones still paying any attention to the TV.

Maybe after 2020,because you need many news and changes to cover so many hours in tv.
We may see a 'bitcoin hour' sooner than later, but an entire channel... I don't see it in the short term

Why would even a Bitcoin 24h tv channel need to exist? It will never happen unless some crazy early adopter decide to invest on such project.
