Is there any way we can alter the theme of Bitcointalk without doing it serverwide?

As in, someone making a plugin for Google Chrome.

You could probably do it with some greasemonkey scripts, but you'll need to do it all over again once the new forum software is launched, which will hopefully happen sometime this year.

If theymos enable theme changing option in "Look and Layout Preferences", you might be able to change theme easily. I don't know if it was ever enabled and how it does, i.e. whether it is a drop-down list or an local/server upload option.

In the initial few months I joined, when avatars were also available, it was possible to change the theme of bitcointalk.

I don't remember exactly, but there was a couple of options/choices available. I think this was still the one I liked. Smiley

I don't think it's good idea IMO. More plugin or more theme means more bandwitdh. I like forum with a simple theme and it surely can load faster without buffering.

It is disabled for now, but I think it would be nice to add a different theme for this forum. Not that I don't like the current one, but just to add a different flavor when browsing. Idk if it would be re-enabled soon, because the new forum software could be released anytime this year.

I cant say if its possible or not but I'm pretty sure you can get a google chrome extension or something to customize just for your client.

Sample websites made for clients:

Exactly one year before your thread, I made this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580171.0
You can also use an extension like Hacker Vision.
