Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I never tried this before, Secondly im seeing this site first time with few other devices and + without https link. I think its risky to order from this site Secondly what is the purpose of this piper if we can make a paper wallet using Bitaddress.org with a random btc address? Why we spent our money on it?

Hmmm...I think you are quite right but I would say that they are reliable. Also I would say that it's nice because you have everything in one device and using a printer (which often have a internet connection nowadays) could be risky.

I agree with ifran. I don't really like using paper wallets either but wouldn't pay for such a device. Would just prefer to keep my coins on wallet.dats and backed up several times instead.

It's just hype. You can achieve the same with just an offline PC and using a safe setup. That includes using live linux disks, etc. Not for everyone, but still - I consider it way too expensive for what it is.

I think the price kills it: $229 USD or 0.9630 BTC Look over here at Mycelium Entropy that you can use on printers that print from USB: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=709936.0I think the usb device for around .80 btc less is a better option if you have a comparable printer. To me this wallet printer looks like a Raspberry Pi and small printer. I would guess you could build your own that does same job for much much cheaper.

Looks cool. It's way too expensive. I would probably go for Ledger Blue(when it comes) or Trezor than spending ~$220 on this. I like the idea. So I may create one myself. Mycelium Entropy is good for creating paper wallets. +1. They have mentioned in their website that they are using Raspberry Pi.

But I think that you get something for the money: a printer, a PI and a cool device. Plus it's easier to print out paper wallets. What I like to know is how they are generating the private keys.

It is way overpriced though. Raspberry Pi is 35 dollars. You can get an entire thermal kit for 62 dollars - https://www.adafruit.com/products/600So throw in SD card, and power cable for raspberry pi, a case. You can make the same thing for around 110-120 dollars? less then half and just as good as product.

So a cost price from $100,- leads to a sell price of $229 is not bad, i think.

Interesting piece of hardware. I'm just wondering what happens though if your using the Forget Keys option and your thermal printer takes a crap on you just before printing out your privkey?

I would guess you just don't use address. I'm guessing you let it print the information first, then fill it with BTC. I could be wrong on this part though.

They probably is using BitAddress.org code. You can see their Github repo: https://github.com/piperwallet/Piper.
