Hashtalk was a very hostile place, and all negative comments was attacked by loyal customers and killed by moderators. This should have flagged concerns, but most people were "money blind" and just accepted it as the norm. {It's our place, and if you do not agree, just STFU}

I also fell for this, but pulled out when things started to look dodgy. {When one person tells you, something is legit, you brush it off... When 100's of people tell you the same thing, you take notice and eventually start to believe it}  Angry

Looking back at that, many people would say we were fools... and they would be correct, but how many of them did the same with other companies doing the same thing? We tried a service that looked legit at the start... when they failed with the legit business model, they turned to Ponzi funding, and they made us all look bad.  Angry

I also "fell for it", but I made a good profit since I got in early in the ponzi. I did not refer anyone.
I think it is great that former employees are brave enough to come out and tell us what they knew and what was going on, since it provides some insight on how it all happened and how future similar schemes can be prevented.

I'm guessing that's the same cooldgamer who is on this forum? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=79720

Did you notice anything suspicious while working for GAW Miners?

Nothing besides the outline of the coin itself.  Since I was brought on the team by somebody I trusted, I mistakenly let my concerns get swept under ‘they’re a massive company, too big to be a scam’.  The moderation was too strict for my taste, but I figured this was the company wanting their forum to be professional.  Its hard to go from ‘awesome, I got a job’ to ‘holy crap, I’m working for a scam’.

I think this is a good point as people complain about the moderation or lack of it here and the pretty much anything goes attitude but this is what can happen when mods get too much power and how they can easily push certain agendas and silence criticism.
