Or is there some sort of measurements that I can take to pay you after a certain amount of days after for the escrow to release?

got proof of how the card was obtained? eg. receipt showing paid with cash, etc.

got this as a gift from a friend, not as a physical item, just the code. He gave it as a gift because I wanted to buy a game. I hate steam so that's why I don't need it.
