Not sure if you guys realize but running a small batch of 50 pure silver bars would be pretty expensive. The end price point for each would be around $250 for a 5 oz bar or $500 each for a 10 oz bar.

If this revelation didn't kill 99% of the interest in such a product I would be shocked - but this is why you do not see such a product in the market at this time. I am as always willing to do this but would have to go the preorder route as I would not be willing to devote this much capital into such a project - plus my wife would kill me lol.

Well Ognasty is selling 5oz silver rounds for 400$ each. At 250$ for a 5oz bar, that still sounds like a reasonable deal.

Thats true.  There were 20 or so preorders for the 5oz from Ognasty.   These are priced at $400.  So you may get some interest in a 5 oz or less solid silver bar.   And if gilt plated for just the B as well....that would be great.

Ok guys. I have dove a little deeper into this to determine more accurate pricing. I think 50 pieces will be too many and take too long to get commitments to proceed so am thinking more along the 25 piece range. This means it will be a bit more expensive per piece as there will be less minted to absorb the overhead cost but will allow for quicker project funding/progression and of course the pieces will be more rare.

As I crunch the numbers more, it looks like pricing for this smaller batch would be closer to $325 per piece + shipping and handling. Each would come with a custom stamped leatherette presentation case, plastic protective capsule and also a new hologram design. I am thinking of requiring $200 down per piece on pre-order with the balance of $125 plus shipping and handling due when product is ready to ship.

Also, before it comes up, I would reserve #1 for my son.

Let me know if there is interest and if it sounds like enough, I will get some designs put together and start a formal thread.

How about if I name my first born "GATOR"...can I have #1?

Seriously though, I'm in for one of these.  Would it be a 5 oz solid silver Bitcoin bar?   Maybe with a Gold Plated B?   Hmmm?

What about a 2oz bar? That would be cheaper to make and would then allow you to create a slightly higher mintage. You could still ask for down payments but they'd not be anything near the $325 total as less silver is being used.

Solid silver Bitcoin bar, yes. Gold plated B is doable of course but would probably add about $25 to the cost. Perhaps worth it?

Good point, however a higher number minted would require more customers in order to complete the project. I think 50 customers at a lower cost (2 oz bar) may still be more difficult than 25 customers at the higher price (5 oz bar). Something to consider and open to feedback...

I'm fine either way.  I do like the limited runs of 25 and I would like the bar to look nice.  Not sure how many ounces are needed for that Casascius bar look.  I like Gold highlights on Silver personally.   This could be a very special and unique piece that could prove popular.

5oz with gilt BTC and some other gilt bits might look really good depending on design.
