I have often heard the accusation that a coin has made a deal with professional FUDders to destroy a competing coins reputation by spreading FUD here on BCT and on Twitter.

Do you believe that this actually happens? And if you do, is there any hard evidence that it's happening, or do you just have a gut feeling that it's happening? Also, do you think that this type of activity has any significant effect?

It's very possible.

It's not only possible, but it is 100% sure. I will include hype as well (i.e. people who create hype in order to gain traction for the given coin). You don't need evidence - they are there and sometimes you can easily recognize them.

When I ask if there is any evidence, I'm not trying to say that they don't exist. I'm wondering if we know of any groups of users who mercilessly FUD ( or hype ) a coin for a while and then move on as a group to another coin or anything like that. I'm wondering if there's a trail to follow.

Where do I apply for one of these alleged 'professional FUDder' jobs?

I don't think they exist, and the 'professional FUDder' is a myth promulgated by those who wish to deflect criticism of their pet coins' flaws.

Nonsense.  Alexander Hamilton, author of the majority of The Federalist Papers, wrote under the pen name Publius.

We still don't know who Satoshi is, yet Bernie Madoff had a famous face and was still a criminal.

You are just complaining that you cannot attack with ad hom insults the authors and messengers of messages you dislike.

Good arguments stand on their own regardless of the source.

I know what you mean. I've been accused of the same thing simply by not toeing the party line, and heaven forbid that I should actually ask a tough question.

Where do I apply for one of these alleged 'professional FUDder' jobs?

I don't think they exist, and the 'professional FUDder' is a myth promulgated by those who wish to deflect criticism of their pet coins' flaws.

Look in the Services sub forum, they come up from time to time

Good arguments stand on their own regardless of the source.

Thanks for sharing. I now have a better understanding of the level of discourse that you’re likely able to comprehend.

Cheers

I do not think, that there are professional fudders for any crypto coins. May be there are many experiences in crypto - part is negative and part is positive.  Grin
