You could have just as easily gotten 2000, 1000, 777, 500 or 250 satoshi

You are quoting old times. It is now 2000 Satoishi every hour (24 times a day)

125, as before, is the MIN payout. Many people get 250, 500, 777,1000 or even 2000 - Every 60 minutes.
