Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Guys, niitassin already said that the new wallet "works, but doesn't sync" here:

I tried these:

- I connected to nodes and got 3 Connections but no Sync
- I imported my old blkindex.dat
- I ate a bagel and waited for an hour looking at the I/O Traffic

RESULT: NO SYNC PROBLEM Otherwise Everything is Good

I suggest running the 2.3.0.0 or 2.3.1.0 wallet (you'll have to build 2.3.1.0 from the source because niitassin never released binaries for that) until he fixes it, since there is absolutely no point in using the 4.0.0.0 release. Running a wallet that doesn't sync is an awful idea, but releasing a wallet that doesn't sync without mentioning it didn't sync in the post... and changing the links on the first post... was a worse idea.

admin do a normal wallet with a normal sync.
when will it be???  нy eй бoгy зaeбaлo yжe этy xyйню кaчaть и oбнoвлять. c нyля кaшeлeк вooбщe нe oбнoвляeтcя. a вы тyт пpo мacтepнoды чeшeтe.
The 2.3.1.0 wallet (of course, the one with unreleased binaries) fixed the blockchain syncing problem. It's very good news if you're using Linux. (And if you're using Windows and comfortable with VMs, that might be the way to go.)

Edit: here is my summary of issues for the 4.0.0.0 wallet, some of which have been fixed.

Edit 2: removing redundant words (too many "releases" in the "awful idea" sentence)

niitassin,

what version of Qt did you use to get this to compile?  Using the source I am getting many depricated calls from QT for 5.2.1 and 5.4.2.   Please update the source or let me know what to change to get this to compile.  I have been slowly using https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149479.820 and https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/25c0cce7fb494fcb871d134e28b26504d30e34d3 to scrape through the code and make changes, but if you got it to compile, you probably already have the changes.  If so, please update github with changes.

If not, I will continue to work on compiling.  I would send you a donut, but it would be cost prohibitive to send from the east coast of the US to India and would probably be stale by the time it got to you Smiley

If you just want to fix the compile errors without rewriting the code (which should really be done), you can add this back in to the top of the Qt makefile:
Code:
greaterThan(QT_MAJOR_VERSION, 4) {
    QT += widgets
    DEFINES += QT_DISABLE_DEPRECATED_BEFORE=0
}

Niitassin removed it after I mentioned that the Qt Makefile should probably prevent users from trying to compile with Qt versions less than 5... but he didn't update any of the calls.

I think because the code is too medival that the only resort is to do a PoB Only Sad

I will premine 47343 Blocks Worth of XNA and then we will have to go through last times pain, but this time I am thinking of Hosting it on BitCoinTalk.

The Coins will be sent to: XBMEr9McFXkiLWTVqTyuNQR1CqKkMPMn6L
The Evidence is to be sent to: 9w4j50fwrepxr@mailinator.com

PoB Reservation will be 25165812.04342900 rDNA

Differences: PoW Will be Forever @ But Only @ 1 Coin Per Block, PoS Will be of .1 - .5 Random % Interest and Also 0 Fees and 5 Confirmations needed....

=============== THIS IS A SAMPLE ===========================

Inputs are needed! Please Help!

no...
imagine Gavin trying to do the same with Bitcoin
swap coins Smiley

not hashing, folding and curing (check FLDC merged-folding! reuse good GPUs)

There was a lot of confusion last time. If this is done it would have to be done in a very orderly manner and with decent time frames.
It is a big deal to be doing this again, but if the code is a mess it might be needed.

Inputs are needed! Please Help!

You could try integrating your changes into the old code rather than trying to switch the coin base to BlackCoin's. Then you don't have to worry about burning again. After the first time you changed the wallet base, I resolved leave if you rebased and broke the wallet a second time... so I suppose I'm done either way.

If you really want to change the entire coin and burn everything, I would suggest just launching another coin. You'll alienate less of your users and do less damage to your reputation.

Create new coin with 1:1 swap for existing coin. Have a premine for that swap, have a senisble short PoW phase and then POS. Will create more interest if it is a new launch

I agree that a 1:1 swap would be the best way to do anything if you need to change the coin Smiley
