Mining on CPU is not very profitable, in Javascript is even slower..

I am creating a simple faucet - and I wanna let the users help the funding by using the online miner - nothing shady

I tried mining on a JavaScript-based web miner once back in 2011 that used your computer's CPU to mine bitcoins in the background. I was able to make about 30,000-60,000 satoshis per day through it although the price of a single bitcoin was much lower back then compared to today. Because of ASICs and the increased popularity of mining, the network hashrate is 30,000 times higher today than it was in 2011 so I'd be surprised if you could make even a single satoshi per day now. Nevertheless, if you're still interested after reading what I just said then you can try it here if you want: http://www.bitcoinplus.com/There is an embeddable version for websites too although I haven't tried it: http://www.bitcoinplus.com/miner/embeddableAnd finally, a WordPress plugin: http://www.bitcoinplus.com/miner/plugins/wordpressEDIT: I see the site has already been mentioned. Well here's a picture to show how pointless the whole thing is:

I saw a calculation that showed that all of the CPUs in the world would only be a small percentage of the mining power in the world now. It isn't going to be worth your time or electricity to CPU mine, even if you have millions of CPUs, unless you have some virus that mines in millions of computers without being noticed, but that isn't something to be recommended!

actually I thought to use altcoins for this. I am now experimenting on the faucet. The users only go there for a minute or so every 60 minutes so it is not a lot people mining at the same time. Google analytics shows that on average 3 people have the page opened at any given time. The site generated 0.6 bytecoin over around 6 hours. This equals around 7 satoshis

You might want to see what kind of profitability you can get when mining either an X11 or X13 coin.

I am creating a simple faucet - and I wanna let the users help the funding by using the online miner - nothing shady Please don't do this. You're wasting your time, their money, and contributing to wasted electricity and won't even benefit from it. If you could a CPU-viable coin and altered the miner, maybe. But don't go after BTC like this.

I am now using script from https://minergate.comThere is no possibility to mine X11 or X13 you can mine either Bytecoin, Monero, Fantom coin, Moneta verde, Quazar coin or Dash (Darknote) any of those could be profitable? I will try dash, but on shorter periods it did not generate anything (The site generated 0.9 bytecoin by now, so hurray 10 satoshi!)

None of these are really profitable, especially given how inefficient JS is compared to something like an ASIC, OpenCL kernel, or compiled C, and how low the values of these coins are compared to mining profitability. 10 satoshi isn't really worth the time it takes to implement mining of this sort, even by copy-pasting. it is equal to $0.00002397, or about 0.01 seconds worth of time at a reasonable estimate of minimum wage.

That's what every other webminer has done, so we always assume people are going to take the same path. I don't even think any CPU coins are going to make a profit, but you might find one somewhere.

It doesn't even matter, mining altcoins is equally futile in JavaScript.

It's not worth it there are websites which have attempted this and in the early days I even looked at it myself it's not feasable and will not work if you aim to make a profit

Even if you "own" all of them. That's probably the one and only good aspect on ASICS.

An alternative to banner ads on faucet sites. If there were a coin profitable enough to even make a few satoshis, it would be a good start.
