Well since butterfly does not post much news at all., instead of kicking rocks all day we might speculate a bit on the design
so much money going into this it wont hurt to imagine.

I for one imagine it to be a hyper-cube design with a spinning torus suspended by magnets in the center.
It's powered by a magnetic resonance sender that is place between 1 and 50 feet away.
The usb connection is wireless of course.

At the end of the day, the ASIC chips are just a new chip, so couldn't it be the same as the BFL Single, but with a different chip?

I thought the power draw is expected to be similar, so I would imagine everything else would be similar plus/minus 10%, so that's what I'm expecting.

The new units will be even more aesthetically pleasing than the originals.

why? I mean you have seen some of the, er.. shall we say.. "function over aesthetics" gpu/fpga rigs. I dont think many care about looks.

my single is "cute" looking according to my wife. until it is turned on and is the noise kicks in. so now its the cutest thing in the basement where no one can see it. or hear it.

please, instead of aesthetics, how about stackable. and quiet.

The new units will be even more aesthetically pleasing than the originals.

The updated FAQ on your website list it as almost the same dimensions as the current Single. So they won't be using the same cases?

The original single was more than visually pleasing. The focus if not already, should be on reaching performance claims, and more importantly having inventory in stock. Especially inventory that can ship quickly. Maybe order limits should be considered for singles and cofee warmers to allow more people to have access to the product.

Josh was good enough to update the FAQ!

Our Single SC is:
4″ x 4″ x 3″ (10.16 x 10.16 x 7.6 cm)

The Single was more than pretty enough. Look at the competition in comparison!

Originals  ?

So they are improved FPGAs ? Or do you already have some ASICs and are you going to improve on those ?
