Resync the blockchain. Backup wallet.dat, empty the folder where it is stored except the .conf file and wallet.dat, then restart the wallet. It will download a new copy of the blockchain. But to be honest, I don't think this coin has much future.

I also get this when opening wallet, not sure if this is the cause of the problem, my wallet works fine on desktop but on vps my wallet is always behind the blockchain despite saying its in sync

I wouldn't think so, but it couldn't hurt to try if you still can't sync - the blockchain isn't that big yet.

If you are using Windows, I think you can click on the Date/Time on the lower right toolbar, select "Change date and time settings..."

Then, click on the "Internet Time" tab on the Date and Time window that appears.

From there you should be able to select a time server to sync with, such as time.nist.gov

Thanks for your help, reinstalling blockchain now, my clock was already synced to google servers so i presume it is just a warning just in case, hopefully i can get my MN working again as it has been down for days with this problem

Tried all of the above and wallet is still stuck 150 blocks behind anyone got a fix? 

If you're not getting any debug console errors, it could be either that your VPS date/time really is off, or you might have a lot of load on the server (just my best guesses).

Do you have other resource intensive apps running? Does the system clock on your VPS match the time when you google "what time is it" on a browser on your VPS?

Sorry to hear about your masternode troubles, that would drive me crazy!
