What are the criteria for moving from 'Member' to 'Full Member' etc?

It is clearly not linked directly to post-count.

Your activity must reach 120 if you want to be a full member.
Activity increase max 14 every two weeks period, you need to make 14 posts to increase your activity. No matter how much you post in that two weeks period, your activity will only increase by 14 activity
So it's not based on post count. You can learn about activity on link posted by member above.

It is not a race.  It takes a long time to hit some of the ranks.   If you enjoy posting on here it will slowly come.

And my next one is legendary but it will be month's till I get it.  And it's random so I have no idea when I will hit it.

Rank really doesn't matter after getting to Full member . Ranks just cause you limit in certain things like Messages and posts time limit. After FUll member it's high and you won't evr hit it easily . So just reach Full member and have fun

I don't know if I would say it does not matter.  Most signature campaigns do still pay more on higher ranks.

Full member is biggest jump in pay, but a lot of campaigns a higher level will still pay more.

You are correct, it should be per period. Indamuck, I am estimating but it takes about a year to become Sr. Member

That's is no criteria, it's all about post and activity. Like other people here try to check this link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0 . For moing your rank from Member to Full Member you need  120 Activity so its around 2 months from your Member rank.
Don't forget to read the rules before your post.

I urgue people not to buy accounts.  You don't know the history of the account.  It might have a lot of temp ban's.  You just don't know.

Most accounts that are "good" people are attached to.  Like myself I am attached to my account I could never bring myself  to sell it.

I'm sure there are a few exceptions, but as a general rule don't buy accounts.
