Hey everyone..

I am tired of playing FPS and some other games..

I am looking for a new game to play and I have an idea in mind, but no idea if there is a game that exists like it.

Basicly the idea is made around space.

Where you start with almost nothing and have to colonize planets or solar systems.
Where you get resources to expand your population and try to survive against all sorts of dangers.

It can also be something like EvE, but I just think its too extreme. (too advanced)

Got any ideas of games that are familiar?
Its even better if they are multiplayer.

Thank you!

EVE is a total grindfest I wouldn't bother with it, there aren't very many games of the time you're looking for sadly I like them as well but I can think of a few for you.

Elite: Dangerous - This is for if you want a big multiplayer space sim, new update coming out this month that improves mining dramatically

Offworld Trading Company - Early access but pretty good, it's about economics though and your building up a colony on Mars, hope you understand supply and demand!

Galactic Civilisations 3 - Huge 4x strategy game that might be the kind of thing you're looking for, lots of space combat/building etc.

We have a recommendation for you:
http://www.gog.com/game/master_of_orion_1_2

Forge an empire in a universe where population growth is stripping away planetary resources. Colonize unknown planets and trade with other races for their knowledge.
The need for galactic expansion is critical. You must conquer alien star systems to secure the resources that will guarantee your supremacy. The ultimate goal is to defeat the evil Antarans. They lurk in the coldest reaches of space, warmed by one all-consuming passion... Revenge!

    - One of the best 4X games ever created
    - Absolutely addictive gameplay with a powerful "just one more turn" factor
    - Tactical ship combat, galaxy-spanning strategy, 60 technology fields, advanced diplomacy and much more

PS: The game is really old, if you can't deal with bad graphics don't buy it.

Master of Orion II is definitely one of the best of its kind (and I still have it installed Cheesy). However, the best 4x space strategy game I ever came across was Space Empires V; the only complaints I have against it are its poor graphics (by today's standards), and weak AI (though it has multiplayer options).

I have recently started looking for another game of this type, and came across Cosmic Supremacy, which is an online based version of these games - it doesn't seem bad: you can "design" your own ships; there are a good number of technologies to research; fair amount of buildings available - but it seems quite limited, when compared to the games mentioned above. Still, if someone wants to give it a try: http://cosmicsupremacy.com (it's not browser based however, and does require a small download to work).

Anyway, if someone finds a very good, online, massively multiplayer, feature rich, (preferably) browser based, game of this kind, let me know. Smiley

Try Homeworld 2.  Loved that game, but it is a few years old now.

Edit:  A new developer has remastered the game with modern graphics!

(Disclaimer:  I own HW 1 and 2.  If I ever torrent a game, I buy it if I like it.)

I post for interest - not signature spam.

That sounds a lot like the game Rimworld, you should take a look.
But i have to mention that RImworld is only early access with a top down view camera perspective with crappy graphics.
I never played it myself so you have to figure out for yourself, watch a lets play on youtube and decide for yourself.
