you don't need much, just a wallet, i suggest bitcoin core + bootstrap download and put it in your appdata/roaming/bitcoin folder

then join a signature campaign and start earning, or go with faucets for a few satoshi

this is a good one 1k every 30 min http://www.satoshigarden.org/

In this time I had only good experiences with bitcoin as payment method. I read lots of people got scammed...that's a shame.
The only thing I don't like at bitcoin is transaction time. Why 10 minutes?  Roll Eyes
If it would be like dogecoin, it would be fantastic. Is this time fixed, or can be changed?

It's not always 10 min.

And I don't think that this is a problem ... you can always pay higher transaction fee if you like to confirm your transaction faster.

It's still a lot faster than bank transfers Smiley

Best regards.

Not to mention that unless you are doing something that requires instant delivery, it won't matter.  Even some gambling sites credit users deposits with 0 confirmations.

You are right.  Thing is that people always want something better than they already have.

according to me the time it takes  is because of the long queue. even though the system to transfer btc is automated the time it takes varies because of the traffic the particular website has. and also you can get transfers a little faster by increasing the transaction fee.

According to me, it's fine as it takes all the transactions during that considerable time into the found block, else, if the block time gets lowered, it's possible that all the coins get mined before the time which might not be good for crypto-world...

transaction time depends on the transaction site. some sites take more than usual time to place a successful transaction. there may be several reasons behind it. some sites take very less time but charge more transaction fee.

Bitcoin is much faster than credit cards. Credit cards take days to clear. Bitcoin "clears" in 10minutes or less.
It's not exactly easy to double spend, not really worth the trouble.
The moment the BTC leaves your wallet and enters the merchant's, it's safe enough. You only really need to wait on confirmations for very large purchases.

Welcome to the forum, I hope we can exchange some quality posts here.

About Bitcoin confirmation times, there are not a problem. 10 minutes is not that a problem at all, even 60 minutes for 6 confirmations is not a big of a deal when comparing to the bank wite transfers or other similar ways of sending money. If you are so worried about the confirmation times, you should know that already exist programs that can tell you 99% is the transaction real or not. As the time passes and technology improves, this will be even 100% so then, transactions will be pretty much instant.
