is it possible for me to mine with OSX 10.5.8?

cant update to snow leopard here.
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

another beginners question:

i started this bitcoin-app. it ran until now, but now it stopped (see screenshot).
what is happening there right now and how can i mine coins with it?
