Hey everyone..

I have a lot of USB miners that I want to setup for solo mining..
(29x 336MH/s miners)

But I am not able to  find all the mining devices.

I am using powered USB hubs and a fan cooler.

Can someone help me set this up?

Thank you Smiley

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Hey,

You say you are not able to find all devices? But some of them are visible?

Maybe some of them are just jammed?  Smiley

BTW. You are mining for fun I understand? Smiley I hope you don't think that you will make any profit. Those miners are useless for mining purposes. Only use might be for fun or/and some experiments Smiley

Regards.

My advice plug them one at a time and check if found.  This is what I did long long ago when I had 50 going I believe.

If you just plug in a ton at once it might work, but it also causes you to have no idea which were not detected.

If you do one by one and does not work let us know and we can try to help. (Been a while since I have dealt with big quantity of them personally)

What kind of powered usb hub?

Most likely multiple usb hubs.  Unless he's got one of those old block erupter ones.  But 29 pretty much guarantees its a few hubs.

But good idea of checking model, and seeing if it supplies enough power.

I am just testing with one.

Its powered at 5V 2A, 1 fan and 9 Miners in a USB.

And I can only find 2 devices at a time.

the rule of thumb for a usb stick is the brick at 5 to 6 watts = 1 stick

your hub can only do 2   it is a poorly power hub.

I have some new hubs sitting in a box. do you live in the usa I could mail one to you.

your brick is 5v and 2a  so 5 x 2 = 10 watts  that is a max of 2 sticks

I have an etekcity 10-port   it has a 12v x 3 a = 36 watts that is 5 to 7 sticks.

I have 3 new in box below:

  I can do:
 15 bucks for 1
 29 bucks for 2
 42 bucks for 3

Or buy them here at 18.45.

remember this brick does about 5 to 7  you can run 21 and use your poor quality hub to drive the fans.

That hub looks like the newer ankers but for cheaper (which is nice).

I member spending a small fortune on 5 10 port metal anker hubs.  Those things were built like tanks before redesign.  And when I sold them they kept almost all of value since they quit producing metal one.

they are not as good but they will run 5 to 7 sticks each.  and 3 cost the less then 1 anker hub which  means you will run 15 to 20 vs 9 or 10 sticks.

If he buys from amazon he will pay 54 for 3 which = 1 anker hub price.

He could buy this hub

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Dipo-Electronic-19-port-USB-Hub-2-0-20-Amps-220vV-5V-1A-per-port-/121328987917?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3fc56f0d

It does 16 sticks easy and is a real stud hub.  I have two of them but I am keeping them.

It sounds like you might be having power issues.

I remember reading on the forums that if your powered USB hub isn't powerful enough or the adapter used it will cause some to malfunction.
Try taking a few of the USB sticks out and seeing if your hashrate improves a bit will be a way to troubleshoot it.

This was already mentioned along with options of hubs thanks to philipma1957.  Look up like two posts.
