What are they going to call it? I read Chris Evans (the British ginger not the American actor) was filming a pilot to be the new host of Top Gear on the BBC or something. If Hammond May and Clarkson all go to Netflix BBC might as well cancel Top Gear because nobody will watch it.

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/jun/07/chris-evans-making-top-gear-film-replace-jeremy-clarkson

I'm convinced that the BBC are coming up with all sorts of bullshit to try and get Jeremy Clarkson out of the way including bribing Hammond and May lol Tongue

What's great is seeing all the extremely smug and arrogant guardian commenters etc. going on about how Top Gear is finally doomed, boy are they going to be angry if the Netflix deal happens Cheesy

The BBC are getting desperate and spreading misinformation about him and the whole deal now they've seen the viewing figures of the channel they had Top Gear on. The consensus seems to be so far that they're planning their own original show but we don't know which one yet, evidence points towards Netflix.

"Although the three would not be able to bring with them the Top Gear name, which belongs to the BBC"...

Call the new show "raeG poT"

Well if any of you are keeping an eye on things, it's been spammed around House Of Cars is the name of the show, not holding my breath until I see an actual announcement from Netflix though. Regardless of what it's called, it will still be a million times better than the 'new' Top Gear the BBC will be planning.

Oddly enough, this reminds me very much of when the original developers of Operation Flashpoint left Codemasters, changed the name, but kept the gameplay and Codemasters failed miserably in producing anything as good.

Just to clarify some things, Netflix or ITV candidates to get the trio hosts to their for auto motive show, cannot bring Top gear as the show is a BBC property, but I'm pretty sure that where ever you put that trio and their producer Andy and give them the means they can make a fantastic show, heck each of them made shows about science or engineering and all of them are amazing.

Thanks to the media practically stalking the Top Gear presenters it looks like we'll be getting some real confirmation of whether they're going to Netflix or not in awhile, probably going to be sorted after they've done the live shows and such like I suspected.

Now that's something I'd like to see! To be honest, Clarkson is arrogant and sometimes does step over the line, but his behavior and caracter is what drew us to the show in the first place! His reviews of the car are of a true car lover, he speaks about the car in a proper way, and treats them like they have a soul - which they do if we're honest - and that's what petrolheads want to hear!

No, he got sacked from BBC's Top Gear. He along with Hammond and May are likely going to present another similar show for a different Network.

And you mean The Stig.

I don't really like the title. I'm sure that's just a rumor someone started any way. For some reason I just can't see it being as good. It'll end up likely being like Fifth Gear on Channel 5.

I'll change it lol but honestly if they went to Netflix it would be amazing, the thing is, if you guys are outside the UK you don't realise just how much censorship and manipulation the BBC get up to, Clarkson was even in an interview fairly recently saying how nice it was to be able to say the word "shit" again.

Things will get very interesting next year I suspect with those presenters, but for now they're a bit stuck because of their contracts.

That's an interesting point about censorship. Maybe the show will get better without the restraints the presenters are put under due to the BBC. I can't imagine May or Hammond changing much but I'm sure we'd see a change in Clarkson and maybe for the better. I always thought he was at his funniest with his more controversial jokes and I'm sure they cut many more out of the final broadcast so maybe giving them free reign on Netflix would be great for the show.

Have you heard of this new website called google? Basically you type in keywords such as 'top gear' and it finds what you're looking for. Maybe try that. I heard there's free porn on there too but haven't been able to find any myself.

I don't really like Clarkson. Do enjoy Top Gear at times, like the silly races and diy car mods. They have been on BBC from god knows when and moving to ITV is going to be good for them. They might have more freedom to do want they want (punching producers excluded), but on tighter budgets.  Cheesy

I don't think them going to ITV would be good. The show would really suffer from smaller budget and they need to make sure they can keep up with the production values of Top Gear. I think Netflix would be best as they can provide the big budget and it will eventually be syndicated to TV channels like ITV. Maybe even the beeb would show it haha.

Netflix is definitely the most logical option as they don't rely on advertising for their revenue, it's basically like the BBC would be if they were privatised, I hope the BBC go bankrupt and finally die or go private, they're a bunch of corrupt assholes regardless of what Jeremy has done.

BBC won't ever go bankrupt as long as people keep paying their license fee. People need to ditch it en masse but that likely wont happen. Maybe there could be some sort of referendum on whether it should go private or not but I think the fee should be scrapped and it should be funded via adverts like all the other channels.

They're desperately clinging on to it, I also think it should be privatised, at least the Royal Mail was providing a genuine service but the BBC is nothing more than if Fox News were left and funded by the state. Top Gear leaving will certainly put a dent in their reputation as well as their finances.

That being said, even peadophilia wasn't enough to get people angry at the BBC, another reason why I hate this country so much, they'll put up with anything if they're told it's good for them.

More news cropping up from the media stalking, it looks like they're filming different stuff and they seem to be under going a re-branding or rather have no branding at all, so I wonder if they've already made a deal with somebody? Oh how I hope this is true Tongue

Netflix is definitely the most logical option as they don't rely on advertising for their revenue

Indeed, the comment DailyMail at the end of the article is so true: "have to consider the risk to its advertising income if car manufacturers took offence at remarks the three men made about their vehicles". We so often hear "X is a piece of crap"  Cheesy

I hope the BBC go bankrupt and finally die or go private, they're a bunch of corrupt assholes regardless of what Jeremy has done.

TV Licences funds the BBC over 3 billion every year. No chance of bankruptcy, they are big fat pigs Angry

they seem to be under going a re-branding or rathert have no branding at all, so I wonder if they've already made a deal with somebody?

They are rebranding themselves to "CH&M". I will not be surprised if they become bosses of their own production and sell the rights themselves! They are worth 40 million a year!
